Happy Birthday chickies ... 2nd posting

From the Heart Stamps is having their Challenge #98 with a twist.  I chose to follow the sketch.    I used copics instead of colored pencils.  I used Birthday Chicks.

A2, copics, gift charm, scallop border punch, bakers twine

Thank you Dr. Springhart

Why does an illness seems to worsen on a weekend when your regular doctor office is closed? As much as I didn't want to, I had to make a couple of trips to the emergency room.  It's called MD 360 and part of our hospital system.  Anyhow, this particular doctor took a keen interest in me.  My illness was out of the normal realm of ER visits...like flu, broken leg etc.  My problems had her baffled.  Now get this, she called me to give some test results and to check on me.  I can't think of a time a doctor called me to see how I was doing.  If anything, they have a nurse call.  I was impressed.  I returned and she spend hours trying to get the problem resolved.

End result....today I feel like my old self...ok...almost  My left leg and foot are still swollen like an old fat log, but the rest of me feels good....yippee

So I made her a quick card in the box.  They are so ding dong easy to make.  I had a lot of scraps lying around.  I added a stethoscope and the Greenville Hospital System logo.  We both talked about needing Spring and flowers in our lives so that's the theme I went with.

fits in A2 envelop, Lindy Gang bee stamp, Doodle Pantry sentiment, bee charm, twine, copics

Lawn Fawn flowers and birdies, Cheery Lynn exotic butterflies dies,, MB fence die

MB birdhouse die, I made the stethoscope svg, Thank you from Silhouette Store  MB grass dies

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

His birthday isn't until March 2, but there is a great Dr. Seuss theme challenge #204 at  Die Cutting Diva's.  I took this free clipart image and quote keeping it CAS for my card.  However, you must use a die cut, so I made his hat into an svg...that added a little whimsy plus adding pop-ups for dimension.

A2, copics, star brads, pop-ups for dimension
I forgot to add the shadowing before taking most of the pics which is why you only see one with the shadowing. I made several  to send to family and friends.  It made me feel happy while making it and that was a hard task since I have been so sick.  If you want the svg, which is in Silhouette Studio form, just email me (under my profile) and I'll send.  Do not ask for it here because it does not give me your email.

Floating Teeny Butterflies

Doodle Pantry calls the 4th Tuesday of each month Flashback Focus.  The idea is to update...like "colored" images that were not colored the first time they were released, plus added sentiments and/or designer papers.

The floating card was really very easy.  Here is Bernie that I followed.  She made hers elegant and I made my whimsical since I used the precious Teeny Butterfly set.

A2, pearls, Silhouette Studio Print & Cut, lace, flower and leaf punch, Lil' Inker banner, wink of Stella on butterfly but you can see unforunately

All that's left is the crying...

A little side humor on a friend's birthday.  She will laugh!  I put a private sentiment on the inside.

I used this same image 2 weeks ago for a QKR challenge and I'm doing it again in this week's QKR Challenge #127: Critters.  I changed the sentiment, clothing and sketch.  It's just a cool image that I think can be used for many occasions.  The original had flowers in the hand.  You could put ANYTHING in the hand for ANY occasion which is why I love so many of these QKR images.  This one is called digi 8507 - Twitterpated.

5x5, gift charm, eyelet, pop ups, tissue, ribbon
copics for coloring except the paper piecing shirt
Health wise: trip to the ER with another rash, itching, aches, fever, and lots of blood drawn.  Good news...I don't have the flu...yet  Bad news, they think my body is reacting extremely bad to the Prolia infusion I had and there's nothing they can do till the stuff works out of my body in another 4.5 months...bummer!  Everything tastes like metal so at least it is keeping my appetite at bay so I don't gain weight.  It will be a few more days before I can start exercising again.

Friend Time Spinner Card

Lordy Lordy I think I may be getting the flu so I will try to get this card posted.

The House Mouse Challenge #188 theme (Friends) is being sponsored by the lovely lady Sues Stamping Stuff. She does an awesome job with the House Mice! My first rubber stamp was a House Mouse.  I still love the sweet critters.  This one is called (I think) '07 Fruit Fun. Bought at HB years ago. I tried to keep it CAS but added a fun cherry spinner.

Flashback:  I remember my friend Carola and I buying cherries, pitting and making jam.  It was a lot of work, a lot of fun and we never did it again.  The next best thing we did was to buy maraschino cherries, soaked over night in chocolate volka and ....yum yum!

A2, ribbon, copics for coloring, white highlights, metal cherry charm.

Still a "Spring" thing (2nd posting)

I'm using the same sentiment as this morning's card.  Can you tell I'm REALLY HUNGRY for Spring?  I been collecting little bird feathers so images from From The Heart Stamps is a perfect place to use them for a little whimsy.

This is the free image Loves Me Birdbrain for participating in the January Monthly Challenge.  I'm entering it in February's Stamp of the Month challenge at FTHS and their weekly Sketch with a Twist Challenge #98....which is to choose any previous sketch and enjoy.

A2, stitching, copics, flower punch, Jennifer Pebbles Pink Clouds digi paper, fern punch, homemade dots, real feather for fun

Let's hear it for SPRING

10 degrees this morning!  In all fairness, the cold helps kill bugs, weeds and set bulbs to ready our garden for Spring.  It's also been documented that there are less fights and verbal aggression in the winter than the summer.

Moving on....I was thrilled to be the random winner of some QKR images in challenge #126. The theme for QKR Challenge #127 is "critters".  I'm using digi 24186 "YaY'.  I'm also entering Cut It Up Challenge #65 - Exotic Animals.  I used the lovely La La Land die cut scallop border. I hope this is enough.

I cased my friend Deloris with her colors and sketch.  I love working with yellow but finding the right shades of yellows has always been challenging.

5x5, stitching, metal element, copics and paper pierced denim for pants. ribbon, La La Land scallop border die.

I made several of these and will make a sentiment when needed

Love Tree and Spring Time

It's gonna be 5 degrees tonight, but I feel Spring in my bones so I'm making some happy cards.

The Love Tree is from Designs on Cloud 9.  They are having a 60% off sale because they are closing the doors at the end of the month.  However, you will be able to buy most of the cuts now at the Silhouette Store like this one.  I also used MB rabbit on one, and Lawn Fawn birdie on all of them.

I cased my friend Evelyn.  Fell instantly in love with her card but of course I can't just leave things alone.  I can at least take off animals and clouds if I change my mind and I have waited to put on a sentiment.  I made at least one blue to send to my brother.

A2,  Spellbinder curve stitch die, Fiskars cloud punch

Sneezie - wheezie - queezie

Yup, a lot of that going around!  I'm into bears this week.  Do you find yourself into animals one week, flowers another, etc?

This is my fist QKR Stampede Challenge.  I bought about 7 images after being inspired by so many friends working with these images lately.  Of course, this is the last day of the Challenge #126...add lovely lace!

I used #8507, but I masked the flowers in his/her hand and put a box of tissue.  I saw this in their gallery of cards.  I just had to do my best to case it.  I left the bow off her head before the pic...oh well.

A2, copics, lace, stitching, :i; Inker flag, eyelet, real tissue, white highlighter

Little Lucky Lamb and Trinket Box

Oh Boy!  It's Tuesday which means a few more new releases at Doodle Pantry. And, the new releases are 25% off just for today (Tuesday).

used a MS flower punch, fence die, grass die and pine tree dies

I used the Lucky Lamb image set and the Trinket Box svg set.  I turned the trinket box into a shadow box for my little grand daughter.  There's a lot of dimension inside that the camera just couldn't pick up...so sorry because I really like the way it turned out.

4 layers on inside with pop-ups on pine trees, merged the images of lambs and used print and cut on my Cameo

another angle view, one pink jewel, white gel pen for dots, clear acetate on front

Don't forget that our Ants in the Pantry Challenge #2 is still open.  Check out the theme and join in for fun, inspiration and a change to win a GC to the Doodle Pantry Store.

Big hug waiting for you

My brother is gravely ill so I'm on a mission to send at least 2 cards a week.  I need to make more manly cards.  I never have one when I need it.

I totally cased Sue Kemet.  Her card was perfect in every way for what I wanted for my brother.  If you follow me, then you know this isn't the first time I have cased her...haha  I have several other friends I will be casing this weekend.  When you are in a hurry, casing a lovely, perfect card really saves time.  I think casing is respectful and tells/shows a person how talented they are by someone wanting to case.  And, I like to acknowledge their talent on my blog.

I used Ai Bear Hugs Set and birch tree die set from Impression Obsession, and Bear Hug Waiting sentiment from TLC  And YUP.... an action wobble  I cut everything out with my Cameo.

A2 vertical, grass die, stitching, copics for coloring.  My brother graduated from the Citadel so that is why I chose blue pants and bow tie...haha

Friends warm the heart

I'm loving the Lawn Fawn Stamp Sets and matching Die Sets.  I'm pretty much just casing fabulous projects by design team members....the one below is an example of great casing.

I sent a few of these to friends for Valentine's.  I didn't send many due to a reaction to the infusion I got a few weeks ago...leaving me with a bad rash, itching, the feeling of shingles pain on my waist and attacking my knees with aches and pain and everything below that.  Now I'm on meds for THAT. I was in fit condition... I always walk on any given day no less than 2.5 miles (4-5 days a week),  along with 25 minutes of weight lifting and then an hour of low-impact water aerobics...then on Friday...bam...rash, itch, burning on sides and couldn't walk....wow! I miss my routine. I'm going stir crazy...haha  Well, since I'm somewhat immobile, at least I got some cards made between the scratching.

Getting your wisdom teeth removed?

Inside says:  A very "wise" decision !

My friend Laura has an 18 yr. old daughter who is having her wisdom teeth extracted on Friday the 13th....wow...could she had picked a better day? Plus, it's the day before Valentine's....all that yummy heart candy will just have to wait...haha

A2, copics and colored pencils, grey distressing on edges, stitching

I made the tooth quickly in my Silhouette Studio along with an offset of the tooth.  The teeth digi paper was a freebie I found online.  Made sentiment in Word.  I love these new Peachy Keen faces I bought for myself at Christmas.

Just for fun...let's hang out!

It's Tuesday at Doodle Pantry, which means more fun, new releases.  It also means that just for today, these new releases are 25% off.

I used Ants in the Pants and Cargo Pants sets.  I also merged the top of the clothes pins to the plain cargo pants.  Anyhow, Laurie's coloring is so great, I chose her pre-colored images and added my grass die, Elizabeth Crafts "Lots of Pops" die flag pole and made my own pop out card since I wanted the poles to be a little farther apart.  PS...I also used Colored Ant Accents to the sentiments.

That's all folks!  Join Ants in the Pantry Challenge 2 with theme going on until the end of the month.

Mitchell's Valentine

I don't think your kids ever get too old to not receive a Valentine's card....especially if it has a tiny bit of money or small GC to Starbucks...haha

From the Heart Stamps has a new weekly sketch with a twist challenge #96.  I'm using FTHS Birdbrain Balloon.  The sketch is pretty straight-forward along with copic coloring, and trying to keep it masculine.

A2, vellum cloud, cut ballon with Cameo and added digital heart paper before cutting

I turned the sketch on its side

Old Fashioned Candy - Doodle Pantry

It's Tuesday, which mean another great release day at Doodle Pantry.  I chose Old Fashioned Candy set.  I guess I'm old because I remember the gum ball machines and the ribbon candy at Christmas.

I used an Elizabeth Craft swing/flip card die.  I also added faux stitching, ribbon, some copics, and homemade dots.  I made several of these cards to send to some friends.

It's February, so it's time for another Ants In the Panty Challenge with a special theme.  Come on over and check it out and have a chance to win a gift certificate to Doodle Pantry.

Mary Hannah's Valentines for classmates

Mary Hannah is now 15 months old.  She has 7 classmates.  My son and DIL asked me to make something for her classmates for Valentines. They gave me a Pinterest project they liked and I did my own interpretation.

Instead of just a tag, I made the fruit cup holder.  They will have little cups of mandarin oranges in each.  The face is from Peachy Keen. I used watercolor pencils for eyes, MS heart border punch and Stampin Up Window punch.
