Sending some happy wags your way (and strawberries)

Bugaboo Stamps is sponsoring the Card Cupid challenge.....such a wonderful cause.  The image is a Bugaboo Stamp called  Puppy Love Envelop.  I made a boy AND a girl version.  I'll be sending these cards to Card Cupic.org.  I got my inspiration and scraplifting idea from a DT member at Bugaboo, but I can't find her blog nor remember her name.

I used my reliable sledge hammer to seal the brads.

Both are A2 size.  I used copics, stitching, brads, pearls, my svg, punch

Strawberries.....Been a little down and my DH brought me this huge bucket of fresh picked strawberries as a surprise.  I fixed him a nice lunch.

I will be teaching tomorrow, so I will not have time to post an svg.

What does rain + boy + dog = ? (+ freebie)

...FABULOUS MUD PUDDLES!!!!!

This is my 2nd entry challenge for Bugaboo "Catch the Bug" challenge with "rain" as the theme.  Boy o boy...nothing better than to make mud puddles and mud pies after a good rain! I used Nana's Kids by DCWV, copic markers, button, stitching and brads.   The image is called BB Sean Dog from Bugaboo Stamps.

A2, vertical opening

Square scallop eyelet (svg)
I wish I could buy all the nestabilities, but that's not going to happen.  So, I made my own in Inkscape to the size I would use most often...3.45 (with the center square approx. 2.5") You could shrink or enlarge a little without trouble. I made 3 different layers for you.  You can use just one, two or all....haha

It will be available for 5 days....thank you to all who have been so kind and generous in leaving nice comments!

April Showers.......

....bring May flowers!    Bugaboo's "Catch the Bug" challenge theme is "rain".  I just ran outside to my backyard and snapped  pictures of flowers that inspired me for this card.  I used FB sunflower, but I changed him to a clematis flower....haha   (I plan to do another similar to this so you will be seeing a few more pics of flowers in my yard...I LOVE Spring flowers and birds singing!)

teardrops, Peachy Keen face, button, stitching, ribbon, copic makers, cloud/sun die cut

Home Again....giggity gig gig!

Home again...just in time for Easter with the rest of the family.  Just a few pictures of the Battery, my son and my friends' house.  I picked up a few card supplies and ready to start making some cards for the wedding showers I will be attending for my son and fiance.
The Battery....spent a lot of time here during college listening to bands on the lawn area and it was free entertainment....what fun!

You can see the gazebo in center where the band's played and we would sit on grass listening and watching the ships and sailboats go by.....free entertainment for a college kid....great memories!

Judson house (front yard)...pretty Spanish moss

Mitchell at Battery with Ft. Sumter in background (it was getting dark) Perhaps he will choose a college in Charleston for 2012 after his mom, dad and brother's footsteps....it's ok if he doesn't.

Still on Spring Break!

I'm still on Spring Break with my youngest son.  We are at the beach and having a wonderful time with our 2nd family, the Judson's.  Laying by the pool, walking the beach with the temps in the 80's and having a wonderful ocean breeze is my my kinda day right now.  Did I mention the chance to drink a mojito, munch on goodies while soaking of the sites, sounds and smells of the ocean?  Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! We also managed to get in a day of fishing....didn't catch anything but had a great time trying!  Today....another day of the same thing...yippee!!!

Lacy Circle svg freebie

I made this open scallop circle the same time I made the oval open scallop svg in Inkscape.  I didn't have anything else at my disposal so I made them for cards I was doing.  I haven't finished my card using the lacy open scallop circle but thought I would go ahead and offer it.  I've been spending my mornings at the gym and administering ACTs in the afternoon and I'm headed to the beach on Friday. I'm bow-legged tired!!! Sooooo, I'm running out of hours in the day...unless I was Celeste at Touched by a Butterfly and could find 36 hours in a day to make wonderful creations like she does.  Maybe the woman doesn't sleep....haha

Please consider leaving a little positive comment if you choose to download...only takes you a second, but the comments last me a lot longer!!!

Howdy Friend

I've never liked shoes and if I picked some out, rest assure, they would probably be ugly ones that I bought.  However, I love cowboy boots!   Go figure.  What does this have to do with anything?  I saw this little cowboy dog image at Meljen's Designs at Whimsy Stamps.  She had a super 1/2 off sale last week.

I cut an extra hat, used pop-ups and made it come out of the circle for a little extra dimension.  The paper pack is "Animal Crackers". Stitching, layers, brads, cord, copic makers, and a silver star finished this little pup. I guess you noticed I made this a girly dog...haha

Jelly Beans......(+ freebie) and oops update

You may have seen a card similar to this last week, but I promised a friend that card for Easter AND there is a challenge at Cooking With Cricut, so I needed to make another card anyway but a tad different to qualify.  So, here it is with a little bit different interpretation.  I created the jelly beans in Inkscape, turned into an svg, took into SCAL and then cut with my Cricut Expression. They were my "freebie" last week.  I also made the circle shapes in Cricut shapes and cut. I colored with my "trusty dusty" copic makers, lots of inking and some stitching.

You're so berry sweet.... (3rd posting today...haha)

I guess you can tell by now I'm on a strawberry kick.  I love  strawberries.  I dehyrate fruits and make my own beef jerky (for the men in the family).  Anyhow, not realizing how much water was in a strawberry I made a frugal attempt of dehydrating strawberries.  By the time they were cured, they had shriveled up to nothing!!!! Good tasting, but I had to pop at least 6 in my mouth to get satisfied by one good munch.  Oh well, I'll stick with my strawberry jam, strawberry pies, strawberry fluff, strawberries dipped in chocolate, and just plain strawberries!

The image is from Bugaboo Stamps.  She is Sunbonnet from the Strawberry set HERE.

Ladybug card different flowers

I wanted to do this pretty Bugaboo Stamp free image in some different colors.  I've had a good time with this one even though I have a horrendous head ache and ear ache...all sinus and Spring related I'm sure.

Received some very informative information from a follower who knew about ladybugs.....

"There's more than one species of ladybug out there. The one without spots is from Japan and it bites. It was brought to deal with a different pest than ours and is becoming invasive (kind of like kudzu). " -- Debbie

Ladybug Ladybug...Fly Away Home

Such a lovely image Jodie at Bugaboo Stamps gave us as a freebie.  I'm finishing 2 others with flowers of different colors.  Ladybugs in my yard are not really red anymore....what happened?  I did a little research.  They haven't lost their color...haha, but rather, there is another species and that's why so many look burnt orangish-red.  (click pic to get a closer look)

Hand Over the Chocolate ! (+ a little Spring)

I liked a sentiment I saw on a Bugaboo DT member's blog, but can't find which DT to give credit.  Anyhooooo, I used the sentiment for a few more Stella cards.   I used puff paint on her bunny tail since the cotton balls weren't sticking too well...haha  Stella is from Bugaboo Stamps and the chocolate bunny in grass is from SVGCUTS called Vegetable Garden Set I.

A2, copic markers, MS punches, stitching, svgcuts, bugaboo digi

Here's a little Spring popping up in the side-yard next to the sunroom.

Sweeter than Honey ... (+ former freebie)

I wanted to do a quick, fun card with Andy's  (Art by Andy Bauer) beehive girl.  Do ANY of you ladies remember the "beehive" hairdo?  I never had it because I was a little girl when it was the rave, but I sure remember my mom having the" do".  The poor souls who had to sit behind these woman in the movie theaters! Andy's got some pretty cool digi's. He's new to the term "digi's" but an old pro at illustration, cartoons, and animation.  Please check out his blog.  I discovered him one day while looking for a particular image and was blown away with his talent and twist on images. By the end of my letter to him, he was interested in helping us cardmakers, digi lover gals and guys. Hooray for Andy!

I'm revisiting some of my former posted svgs, so I'm going to offer the beehive again.

I made this card twice with two different sentiments.

A2, copic markers, EK and MS  punches, Making Memories paper, digi, stitching

The svg will be available for 5 days.....Enjoy!

Beach of Bust!!!

....that was a car sticker I had ions ago.  Yup, I had a surfboard, hip hugger bell bottom pants, and hair down to my a@#$....you get the picture...haha  Wish I still had the board for my beach sunroom for nostalgia.  It was sold years ago and now sits in a bar/restaurant.

This is another card from the Edisto Island Card collection from Svgcuts.  If you purchased, made a card, and posted on Svgcuts Facebook page, you would have had a chance to win some wonderful AC cardstock.  A random winner will be drawn later this evening.  I used rope, but rope or wire can be seen on the real fences on the beach.  The fences are used to protect the dunes and sea oats.

I did some inking, embossing of the sand...yup, our sand actually has ripples made from the wind. I apologize for not doing the background for pic a little better...was in big hurry.  I had so much FUN FUN FUN and having great memory flashes as I made this....haha

Shells are from the beach, jewels on flip flogs

Charleston Manor

This is the manor card from the beautiful Edisto Island Card Collection from SVGCUTS. I added real spanish moss, but don't get it off the trees unless you know how to treat.  It has chiggars (red buds) that will make you itch.
The moss makes the card too busy, but in person, it doesn't give that appearance.  You know....how a picture can add 10 lbs. to your figure...haha ( Getting a good photo was difficult)

There may still be time to purchase this set, make a card and enter it on Svgcuts Facebook for a change to win some fabulous AC cardstock!!!!  Hurry!

I added stitching, fiber, brads, K&C paper, spanish moss, liquid pearls.

My family is screaming for lunch....gotta go!!!!

Nothing Could Be Finer than to live in Carolina!

.....except during "hurricane" season!

I just completed a card from an AWESOME set called Edisto Island Cards from Svgcuts.   You can get it HERE.  Mary certainly did it again!!!!  Edisto Island is a small, charming community south of Charleston, SC.  If you read my profile you already know that I'm a die-hard lover of the beach and the"low country". This is my take on the Thank You card from this wonderful set. ( It was dark outside so I just grabbed a camellia blossom instead of a magnolia...sorry!)

I inked edges, stitched, added a pearl, used some lovely paper from K&C Company. I shaded the peach to try to give it the real look of our fine peaches here in SC.  Our freeze last night was not sufficient enough to damage our peach crops.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the next 3 weeks.  I live for the peach season....yum yum  peach butter, peach jam, peach cobbler, peach wine, fried peach turnover pies!!!

There is still time for you to purchase this set, make one of the cards, and post it on the Svgcuts Facebook page for a chance to win some wonderful AC cardstock.  Winner will be chosen Sunday evening.
