Cure for the ills.....

(Stella Says Sketch)
at Catch the Bug

If chicken soup doesn't help, how about a Hot Tottie!  Showing my age, when I was young and sick, many moms, including mine, would give us a heaping teaspoon of paregoric or a swig of whiskey and honey.  It's a wonder we lived to tell it.  Paregoric is illegal to distribute in today's society and giving alcohol to a minor would give a parent a trip to the "pokey".  OK...we also didn't have seatbelts, crib standards. Do you remember mercurochrome  and merthiolate?  Oh my God...they both had mercury in them and are now banned.  Yup...it's a wonder we old folks, who were young folks, are still alive.

I hired Kitchen Chicken-Soup from Bugaboo Stamps to bring this little card of mine alive.  Join us at Catch The Bug for Sketch Challenge #107.

That's a real, working wooden spoon in my kitchen

Supplies:
Spoon: my svg
Stitching, and copics
Chicken wire rubber stamp...not SU, but no name on it

Prom? ( You need to read my story)

Where are the days when a fella "asked" a gal to be his date to the Prom?  No more...now it is a "presentation" and the more different, the better!  I spend most of my free time creating cards and suggested a very, unusual fun card for my son to make for the young lady to open, but Nooooo, my son wanted me to pull out my stained glass equipment and let him make something. I gave him about 6 creations to choose from since I was going to make "him" do it, but it also meant me staying with him every minute.  Between pulling out glass to look at and getting cut, cutting the glass and getting cut, sanding the glass and fragments flying and/or the soldering gun melting lead to hot liquid, I didn't know which one was going to make me a nervous wreck with his hands behind these tools.

As you can see below, he chose a butterfly rooter.  Luckily,  I still had some test tubes from school supplies I kept.  He was so excited upon finishing it, I barely had time to take a decent picture before he was "out the door".  What you DON'T see are the beautiful peach rose buds that replaced the azalea blossoms that are in this picture and the tag asking her to the Prom!

Only 2 stems of rose clusters would fit into the test tube, so I won the remaining flowers as the left over prize.  I put them with the azalea blossom and made me a pretty bouquet....I felt I deserved it...haha

He added school color ribbons...blue, yellow and white
Mitchell's arm on the right

My bouquet - earned for my patience..lol

Hiding the Eggs.... (window and flower box svg)

When I was a little girl, there was something thrilling about sitting in our living room window and then jumping out....totally getting yelled at by my mom.  I graduated to jumping off the roof of our house and swinging in trees like a monkey.  What was I thinking...maybe that's why I have back problems today...lol

Bugaboo Brat - Bunny Girl from Bugaboo Stamps was a perfect choice for  challenge theme, "think pink bunnies", at Cutie Pie challenge.

I used one of my favorite svgs I made a few months back, the open window and window box.  Grass punch, vine and bird are from the Silhouette store.  Scraps of DP, stitching, lace, egg brads, homemade faux brick embossing folder and pop-ups help create the illusion of the little girl sitting in the window.

You can purchase the window and flower box for $1.50.  If comes with 4 different sets of windows, including an arch window with snow.  Email is under "View my complete profile".

We were given SOLEMATES digi stamp from Hambo Stamps to use in the challenge along with following the "tic tac toe" board below. Card can also be found at CDAC.

Christmas in March

...Yup...you heard right!!! I made a card for CHNC challenge (Christmas: lots of glitter) that Bugaboo Stamps is sponsoring this week.  And, and, and......drum roll please..........

THE CHRISTMAS TREE SHOP
(is coming to Greenville this month)

I only get to shop at one when I visit my SIL in Rhode Island.  I have to take an extra suitcase just for the cool stuff I can get there that I can't find here in SC.  Surely it will be just as good as the others.

Back to the card....  I used Knobby Knees Christmas  Candy Cane from Bugaboo Stamps.  I incorporated the snow corner die from Memory Box, a snow brad, AC cardstock, glitter cardstock, circle punches, Diamond sickles, stitching and copic, copics copics

Sweeeeeeeet !!!

It's My Birthday!

Sweeeeet!!! (ear piercing sweeeeeeeet)   I'm so happy I could....

.....eat a pound of chocolate and smile all the way to the gym.
....drink a glass of wine, down some bon bons, read a trashy novel and go to bed happy tonight.
....squeeze and hug you if lived just a tad bit closer.

Thank Yoooooooou for making it such a nice day!

The expressions on this little face sums up everything I'm feeling today.  Perfect!!! I fell in love with this darling Spyder's image called Birthday Mice.

Right side blank to post a comment before I mail.

Cami's Trifold card is the technique I used for this card but had to do minor adjustment as not to waste paper.

I See.......

(inside)
.... I'm having another bithday...Happy Birthday to me!!!
.... sunny days ahead.
.... warmer days ahead.
.... that you are on the road to recovery.
.... another birthday coming soon.
.... it's about time we get together.

As "ewe" can see, "I see" a lot of different occasions to use this card so I left the inside blank for right now.  Ain't "Detective Sheep" the cutest little Sherlock Holmes ever!  (snort!) He is one of this March's new releases at Doodle Pantry.

I created a tall (legal size) card. I made the window, flower box, inside fence and magnifying glass svgs.  I offered the window and flower box as a freebie several weeks ago.  The vines and grass are from Silhouette. The bird (Martha Stewart) and flowers are punches.  Look a little closer and you can see stitching border and teal pearls on the flowers. Spring is in the air. I also use "old and new" elements.

click on any picture to get a closer view

used lots of pop-ups for dimension....closer view of front

inside is blank for future use
The window and flower box are not available as a freebie.  You may purchase for $1.50 which includes 4 different sets of windows, including the flower box and an arch window with snow drippings. My contact info is in upper left hand corner.

Happy Birthday Chef Harry!

ABC Monday
(Anything But a Card)
at Catch The Bug

Ok.....he didn't go to Johnson and Wales Culinary School but he could give any student a run for their money.  When our family goes to Charleston and people ask,  "where's the best place to eat", we always reply, "at the Judsons".  "Where's the Judson's," they reply.  Well, it's our best friends' house. (PS  Carola is a great cook too.)

There are also measuring spoons, an oven mitt and a rolling pin on the cake container that I did not show in the picture.   I decided to velcro the plaid ribbon (on top handle) so it can be easily removed to wash the container. Showing is  Roly Poly Chef - Chalkboard, and whisk spoon from Silhouette.  I made the chef hat svg.

It's ABC Monday at Catch The Bug Bugaboo Stamps is also sponsoring Make It Monday this week.  Head on over  for some great ideas.

Hi-Yo Silver!!!!

UPDATED Picture:
OKAY....name the year and name the TV show?  I questioned whether or not to use the sentiment.  My DH wasn't thrilled with my choices and this sentiment popped into his head.... so now you know how old he is...lol (snort)!  The fact that he made an effort, I choose his sentiment.  Now he feels he has a piece of ownership..lol

Elizabeth Bell is on my TOP THREE list of favorite artist.  You can find images at Elphine House Australia. Their  It's a Boy Thing - Color Challenge and use blue and green.  This is the only boy image ('Lil Cowboy) I own of hers.  I paper-pierce the boots, then attached with pop-ups for dimension. Green is in both scarfs and not showing real well in the plaid area. I made the svg star cluster.

Copics, boots paper-pierced, pop-ups for boot dimension, stitching, punches, twine, star svg

By the way.....Year: 1950's   Show:  The Lone Ranger

I've been working out!!! (2nd posting today)

I saw this monster dragon and for some silly reason it made me LMAO!  The digi image is from Hambo called Monster Weights.  I'm entering it in their Hambo Hoedown challenge using the sketch below.

It appears to be a card more for a man, but I think any of my girlfriends would get a big "kick out of it."  I made the svg dumb bells and offered free some months ago.  I also used a punch, my copics and stitching to call it complete.  It is one of my CAS style cards.

Some Spring Time with my Friend

ANYTHING GOES Saturday Challenge
at Catch the Bug

Are these two little girls "best buds" or what!!  I took out my copics and "went to town" on Bugaboo Brats- Best Friends from Bugaboo Stamps.  Join in on the challenge at Catch The Bug.

Ahhhh...Spring is in the air.  I thought of sharing some time and this card with a friend. A tried something new...a Z fold.  Spyder's Z-Fold tutorial and her beautiful card, along with Cazzy's, got me hooked. I stitched around the front panels for a little extra texture. I used an old EK scallop punch, along with some ribbon and a beautiful Memory Box corner floral die.  The paper I used on the inside was so pretty I didn't have the heart to cut off the top part so I folded it and made a flap.  Actually, a great idea ..now I have a great place to jot a note. (A2 size)

NEW RELEASE DAY and CHALLENGE
at Doodle Pantry

WOW!! I'm now with Doodle Pantry as part of their Spring/Summer design team.  I look forward to the next 6 months.

So many wonderful new releases today....how does one choose!!! I jumped on the Strawberry Ant set and made a "telescope"card.  I incorporated one of the DP papers, married several strawberries, and joined the strawberry with the ant and the sentiments as the topper.

Copics, stitching, button, twine, die cuts, brads, and my awesome Cameo helped me create a card I'm very pleased to send to a friend.

Head to the Doodle Pantry Blog Challenge and join the fun. See what other inspiration the DT has waiting for you.
