just chicken in....

Peaches are FINALLY in!  Nothing like leaning over the sink eating a peach while the juice runs down the arm.  Humm...I say that about fresh, summer, tomato sandwiches, boiled peanuts, and watermelon.....is this a Southern thing!  lol

I'm into dies a lot this week.  The Mother Hen Eggie is from Kadoodle, the chicken wire die is from MFT, and the idea/casing from Steph. I massed produced 5 of these..lol  The hardest part was figuring out how to get it too look like it was popping out of the fence.  I should have had a little dry corn for the photo instead of the flower...haha

Basking in chair (2nd post today)

Inside:...but in my head I'm quite busy!

I said you would see this fun background sunburst again.  When you cut it out, it automatically makes two.  I'm using QKR Stampede digi24231-Basking in chair.  I think he's too funny.  I'm entering this in the QKR Challenge #132 - use sentiment.

My DH doesn't look like a chicken/rooster, but the position in the chair reminds me of my husband and he has pretty much said this sentiment when I ask him why he's not "busy doing something".  When he asks me "why I'm so quiet", I tell him "I'm thinking". He says, "Oh boy, that's scary because it only means you are thinking of something that's going to put me to work!" (He's usually right...haha)

When people.....

Have you ever finished a card only to drop something on it...like an ink pad and mess it up?  It has happened to me more than once and it happened with this card.   The only way to save it was to fussy cut and/or take it into PSE and erase the ink marks.  All the marks were on the outside of the image but very close to the feet so there was no disguising with a sentiment, flower and any type of embellishment...haha  I printed it out but losing a little color quality.  If I knew enough about PSE, I'm sure I couldn't have fixed that too.

Anyhoooo, I'm entering Digi 24122 into the QKR Stampede Challenge #130: Stitching   I used real stitching, faux stitching, and dies with embedded stitching.

How seriously do I take my coffee?

eyelets, copics, homemade enamel dots, ribbon, circle punches

just another angle view

I'm casing Kathy's, Will Stamp For Wine,  fab k cup holder.  BUT, I'm using the Birdbrain Needs Coffee stamp from From The Heart Stamps.  They have their Challenge #81 this week using the sketch or twist...see below.  I opted with the "eyelets".  I see some people using brads, but I thought eyelets were circles with holes. I don't want to chance making a mistake since I decided not to use the sketch. I ask you...are brads and eyelets the same?...haha

Facts about me and my coffee

2nd posting this morning!

Inside: I am only as strong as the coffee I drink, the hairspray I use and the friends I have....along with a steaming cup of coffee

Birdbrain Needs Coffee is from From the Heart Digital Stamps.   I wanted to make a coffee card and  join the Sketch with a Twist challenge #80 at From the Heart Stamps.  The twist: homemade embellishment  I designed the svg cups, cut them out and try to make it appear that they were hanging on a cup rack as my homemade embellishment.  I also followed the sketch.

A2 vertical, pop-ups for dimension and I made the coffee bean designer paper with an old coffee bean stamp..  I also used copics for the coloring. Svg cups were cut out using my Cameo

Hello Friend....What's cluckin'?

I bought this adorable "just released" svg set from My Scrap Chick called Shirley, Goodness, Mercy.  It is $1 off till the end of today (Thursday) and then it will go back to regular price.  I see a lot of cut files and this one struck me as "different".  I cut it out using my wonderful Silhouette Cameo.

I made my own pop-up card.  I left the outside CAS since I was putting so much on the inside.  You can't see the bottom of the page, but it's also decorated with matching yellow strips of paper.  I used faux stitching instead of real stitching...haha

I'm entering it into the Silhouette Challenge: use your Silhouette machine and use faux stitching.

A2, mini fancy flourish (mb), Studio Girl sentiment, flower punch, flower jewel

What's cluckin?

"What is that?" asked me, the city girl.

I seem to always have a memory/story behind each card.  Being a "city girl", I wasn't exposed to many critters from the foul family when I went to meet my new in-laws on their little farm.  I recognized the chickens and rooster immediately, but I saw strange little turkeys running around in their yard (free range...lol).  Anyhow, I was also unfamiliar with the strange sounds they made (patty wack - patty wack) and they seem to want to follow me.  My mouth seems to get me in more trouble than anything.  I spontaneously ask, "Hey, what's up with the strange turkeys?" They all bursted out laughing and when they were finally able to composed themselves, my husband turned to me and said, "My dear, those are not turkeys; they are guineas."  Now yal go "google" a guinea fowl and tell me that don't look like miniature turkeys!!!

Doodle Pantry has some wonderful "May Releases".  This darling chicken/hen is from the Quirky Rooster/Hen set.  It comes with B/W and Pre-colored images, along with DP and sentiments.  How cool is that!
