It's been a long time! Living in Florida now!

Hello...It's been quite a long time since I have posted!!!

I'm now living in Cocoa Beach, Florida. We had a visit from Hurricane Dorian.  We were lucky this time and came out with minimal damage.

I've missed creating cards and trying to get my feet wet by creating some simple, fun beach cards.  I wasn't able to bring all my supplies in my move, but that just makes it a fun new challenge.

These dies were bought on Aliexpress.com through different companies.  I stitched the edges, and created my own sentiments using my dear Silhouette Cameo.  I was so excited to brush the dust off and seeing it still turned on.

Used some ranger inks on background paper and adding splashes of water drops.  (Thank you Lola for the inspiration.) Added shaker eyeballs on crab and used Copics to color. The little cocina shell was found right before the storm several days ago.

I call this "Marsh View" and reminds me of my brother's beach house on Pawley's Island, SC

This was made for my sweet grandson Wyatt.  I should had said, "Whale Hello".  I used Diamond Dust Liquid Pearls on both beach scenes.

All the cards are A2 size.

tank you... (shaker card)

Another card using Fintastic Friends set from Lawn Fawn.  I find making these cards fast, easy and something worthy of being sent to family and friends.

I figured if a card is worth making once, then why not 3 to 5 times.  Once the original card is made, then mass producing is pretty quick. I am enjoying using the FUZE tool for shaker cards....it's awesome!!!

Best Fishes

Yes, my time blogging lately has been sporadic at best.  My craft room was out of control, so I took a week off to clean.  I'm halfway there, but found a good place to stop and do a quick card.  The card is a total "case" from Jennifer McQuire.  I find it hard to jump back into creating after being away for too long.

I used Fintastic Friends set from Lawn Fawn.  I used the dies along with copics, and pop-ups for dimension.

I've enjoyed checking my emails and catching up on so many blogs I loved to follow for smiles and inspiration.  Unfortunately, I haven't been leaving comments, but will try to catch up.  I know the time and love that goes into a card and I personally know that comments left "goes a long way" for encouragement.  So....I'm going to do better.

Beach shadow box

Bought this beach theme shadow box from Lori Whitlock at the Silhouette Store. ( I got the idea from Deloris at Stamping at the Lake.) Gosh...$1  It folds flat for shipping and doesn't need any extra stamps.  I reduced the size in order to use an A2 envelop.  My brother and SIL sent me a picture of where it sits in their kitchen.  They now lived permanently at Pawley's Island, SC (AND, I can go visit and stay as long as I want...yippee!)

A2, folds flat for mailing

Silhouette Store - Shadow Box (Lori Whitlock) she made video to help with instructions
Impression Obsession - seashells and egret

Get Your Tail To The Beach

This leg brace is keeping me from traveling, but the moment I'm free, I'm off to the beach.

A friend saw a card at a store and asked me to do my version for her.  I made this CAS and made 8 of these cards....4 for me and 4 for my friend.  This is the first card I made since November.  All of this was designed in Silhouette Studio, except for the Fiskar wave die.

A2, pop-up dots for dimension

Carousel Dolphins

Another wonderful August new release from Doodle Pantry....Carousel Dolphin!  I chose to use the image that  didn't have the carousel post, only because I had a specific use for the card...a nautical scene.

I've been wanting to do a pop-up box card for quite awhile and now was my chance.  Everything was from the Silhouette Store except the main feature...the wonderful pre-colored dolphins from Doodle Pantry.

Join our August Doodle Pantry Challenge...a great way to win a gift certificate, a free set for participation if using a Doodle Pantry image and receiving added inspiration from others.

Folds to fit into an A2 envelop, clouds for Fiskar punches

Paper is from Walmart...theme Beach, used funky scissors for waves.

Angle view

Folded flat for mailing...will take extra 12 cents for bulk

Fish Whisperer

inside.......FISH WHISPERER

(OBG) Oldie But Goodie Thursday
at Catch the Bug

Gus - Fish Whisperer from Bugaboo Stamps was the perfect image to use for a birthday card for our friend Harry.  Harry has taught me all kinds of fishing tips and tricks over the years.  We have shrimped at midnight on the outskirts of Charleston Harbor and puttered down the Wando River in Charleston.  Yup, some of my fish tales have grown...lol But, Harry still puts up with my "sometimes" ineptness at fishing. Being on the water is being in one of my happy places!!!

This is a pretty CAS card.  I have my own cattail svgs, but I chose to use a Silhouette cattail file today.  Some copics, stitching, fish brad and glossy accents for glasses and I call it done.

Solemates

Oh My Gosh....if you know me or follow my blog then you know I'm a huge water and beach lover.  So, when I received the next image for the Hambo Hoedown challenge I was in heaven....beach heaven!!! We were given SOLEMATES digi stamp from Hambo Stamps to use in the challenge along with following the "tic tac toe" board below. Card can also be found at CDAC.

The seaweed is a Silhouette file, paper from DCWV called Sea Glass. Yup, and real seashells as my props!

Glossy accents on hearts and eyes, die cuts, punch, netting, twine, copics, clear dots, pop-ups for accent, brad and 5x5 shaped card size

Got my mind on beach, sun, surf and fish (freebie svg)

Yal probably don't think I ever stay home.  Well, you're right...lately I've been on the road to water somewhere...haha    I leave very early tomorrow morning to visit perspective colleges for my son and his friend.  We will be visiting universities near the coast and stay at the beach between visits...might as well enjoy the beach while we can!  I'm taking a friend for company, plus she is a high school counselor that will add a little flavor to the tours.  My husband is staying back home working to keep me in the lifestyle I'm accustom...haha  (He's really a dear, but worse is that we won't be home for Father's Day.  We will return Tuesday afternoon.)  We plan to do a little fishing, swimming, kayaking, watching the sunset with a glass of wine in our hand (just us two ladies) along with the educational activities.  I'll be taking my Ipad and laptop for communication with you guys.  I hate missing all the fantastic crafts on your blogs.

Download :  Fish   (svgs)
Svgs will be available for 5 days...enjoy!

PS...I'm working on another secret project that I also can't share...that's why between the wedding, beach, lake and trip tomorrow you haven't seen any cards lately.

Cleaning the Goldfish Pond

Yup, it's that time of year....cleaning the goldfish pond.  Let's see....hummm...only 4 koi.  We did have 6.  Something had a little snack during the cold season.  Only thing left is to fight those golden oak noodles that drop and clog up the filter.  I had an old fish sponge stamp and jazzed it up a little in Inkscape.  This is dedicated to the remaining goldfish. Download HERE for goldfish.
