Fried Chicken

I laugh every time I see this image and the sentiment.  The image is "Fried Chicken" from Bugaboo Stamps. And yes, this little chick has fried her little and old a** in the sun from a young age.  I've been much better these past few years with the scare of skin cancer.  I still love the sun on my face.  I just make sure I grease up for protection.

I'm infatuated with perfecting my shaker cards....better and easier!  I placed real sand and some bling bobbles in the shaker.  I used my new Lawn Fawn "Life is Good" Stamp and Die set.

The challenge at Catch the Bug is "End of Summer"...use teal, bling and die(s).  Well, I'm headed to the beach this week for a last summer hurrah, used glitter and bling bobbles, and every shape in this card came from a die or cut from my Silhouette.

A2, copics, Lil' Inker Banner Die, cloud punch, sand, pop-ups for dimension, clear acetate

From The Heart Burger Birthday Shaker Card

It's time for From the Heart Stamp #77 Challenge. You can do the sketch, twist, or both.  The twist is flower power. I chose to do the sketch this time since I wanted to use this as a male card for a friend's birthday.  I'm loving this Birdbrain Burger image.

Yup, another shaker card. I used copics for coloring.  I'm changing glues thought.  The Tombow glue is not doing the job.  I used the Lil' Inker Flag banner die and of course, the 2 brads.

A2, shaker card, acetate sheet, brads, sequins and glass bobbles

Happy Haunting

I did this same scene a week back but with different papers.  I always find it amazing how different papers can change a scene so much.  I know I will get tired of these fun circle burst dies at some point down the road....but not yet...haha

Both dies are from Memory Box.  I made the svg spider web a long time ago and I heat embossed the old clear Happy Haunting sentiment stamp.

A2, ribbon, spider web brad, heat embossing

Back To School

....well, not for me.  After 33 years teaching in the high school setting, I just substitute now and then for a little extra fun/mad money. Funny how I don't miss the paperwork, yet now that I'm retired, I surround myself with paper....ok...but it's PRETTY PAPER...haha

The image is from Lacy Sunshine called Chrissy Crystal Whisk Fairy .  I got it free for participating last month.  Their challenge theme this month at Lacy Sunshine is "Back to School".

I used my new Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banner Die Set and my new Lil Inker Stitched Flag.  It took me a long time to win the fairy charms on Ebay at the price I wanted to pay.  They seemed to be very popular.

(Humm...she is not that pink...bad lighting..sorry)

TIME to MOVE

I volunteered to make a card for my friend and realtor for a new friend who is closing on their new home in the neighborhood I just moved into a few months ago.  I love a challenge.  I forgot to color the flower on the car before taking the pics, but I remembered and that's what counts...right!

I used a sizzix flip-it card die, route sign from Cliff's Clubhouse Set  from Svgcuts.com, and AKV - Moving from Bugaboo Stamps.  A little stitching, copic coloring, jewels, pop-ups, wine opener charm and I called it done!

A2, tied with raffeta, metal charm is hot glued
these angles are so hard for me to photograph

The white panel is for her note or she can moved it to the back of the card.

Hi There

I've been missing using my Bugaboo images.  I like using them to bring smiles and throw off a little humor every now and then.  There's something about Jodie's artistic, cartoonist smiles on many of the characters that "just make me happy and smile". Soooo, I hope to spread the smiles to some dear friends who are very ill.

I chose "boy on bike" (can't find exact title) from Bugaboo.  It just so happens to qualify  for the bingo challenge at Catch the Bug right now.

A2, Lawn Fawn dies (sun, cloud and sentiment) Hill is a sizzix die and used copics for coloring.

Need A Little Pickup

I made two cards with 2 of the Doodle Pantry sets...one is the Hotrod Pickup and the other is Doggie and Things.
A2, balloons from Silhouette, sun and cloud from Lawn Fawn dies, pop-ups The inside says" since I can't be there for your fab birthday".

The cards are similar...one being for a friend's birthday in which I can't be there and the other for my SIL's father who is gravely ill.

For Vern who is very sick

I'm entering the card in Tuesday's Throwdown #209.  The theme is "furry friend".

Thinking of you Vern

My SIL's father has fallen to ill health.  He has worked so hard to be independent and fight these debilitating illnesses.  I'm going to try to send cards at least twice a week to let him know I'm thinking of him.  I hope the silly cards will put a smile on his face.

This is Gus from Bugaboo.  He's one of my old time favorite cranky guys.  He has a mind of his own...just like dear Vern.  So I think they will definitely get along...haha

I'm entering the card into the BINGO challenge at Catch the Bug.

My thermal wine acrylic/glass

I showed the glass I did for my youngest son's girlfriend....now I will show you mine....same thing except I used a lime green and MY name...haha

Liking the green
Kept my name simple

Wine Time

I love making something fun from "almost nothing".  The thermal wine glass came from the Dollar Tree...yup...$1.  All the vinyl was given to me "free" from a nice man who has a sign business.  The image cost me $.50 from the Silhouette Store.  However, I did buy some other colors since the free stash...like the pink.  (PS  I'll post the one I did for myself tomorrow...lol)

I decorated this particular glass/acrylic for my youngest son's girlfriend.  I didn't realize how hard it is to take pics of glasses...wow...trouble...haha

Teal blue....writing on bottom says "Wine Time"

Her name in the same color

Eek...Somebody is watching me!

Halloween is a fun time here in the states.  We decorate the outside of the house, adding psyhco lights and sounds of eeks and screams.  A short version of "Something Is Watching Me" is on the tape track.  Yup, I still have a tape player just for this Halloween night..lol

With all this being said, I am entering the challenge at Cut It Up - theme: song.  The songs that pop-in to my head are Somebody is Watching Me and Thriller...a classic by Michael Jackson.

I used the large circle burst die from Memory Box and Halloween Hill from Impression Obsession.

A2, ribbon, dies, stitching

What? ... another birthday?

Inside:  Well...I'll drink to that!!!

Yes yes I know...I used this image before not too long ago, but I still get the giggles every time I see it.  Friends have ASKed me to use it for THEIR birthday care...lol  My DIL is having a birthday.  I think she'll enjoy this card.  It came just in time for me to be able to use this darling From the Heart Stamp called Martini Chicks in their Sketch Challenge with a twist No. 76...see sketch and twist below pic.

I think I'll make more of these birthday cards but "man them up" with some masculine papers.  I never have enough masculine cards.

A2, stitching, copics, ribbon, olive svg I made

Bee Yourself

Saw this darling image called Honey Wings from Lacy Sunshine and knew I had to get her at the special price of $2 and enter her in the Lacy Sunshine Challenge.  The theme:  summer

I kept the card CAS, but had to give her a little fence with flowers to ground her.  I did some stitching, copics coloring, flower punch and fence die, along with glitter for her wings.

A2, small circle burst die, and using the last of the Stampin Up So Saffrom paper.

Circle Burst with Jiggles Giraffe

Inside:    Do It again.

I'm really enjoying the circle burst die from Memory Box.  I've already ordered the small circle burst and waiting for delivery.  I also love the Jiggles Giraffe set from Doodle Pantry...as you can see by the cards I have made recently.

Do you find yourself only needing to print or cut one image, but do several just in case you make a mistake?  Well, I do.  You wonder what to do with the rest unless you know you want to make exact duplicates.  Sooo...that's another reason why you see more of Jiggles and the Circle Burst die...lol

I'm entering the card in the Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge with theme being: using circles and have a sentiment on front.

A2 vertical, ribbon, pop ups..sorry that the pic is a tad cock-eyed...lol

Inside...you can't see the sentiment since it is on top.  MB grass die  OOPS...left the pop up to keep closed as I took picture...haha

Boo

I've finished 4 Halloween cards this week.  This is the first time I've used Elizabeth Crafts Lots of Pops die.  I made something very similar in Silhouette Studio, but I must admit that using this die is a whole lot faster.

I'm using the adorable digi image from From The Heart Stamps.  Since I participated in the FTHS Progressive Challenge last month, this one was complimentary this month.  It's called Pumpkin Pig Wit and I'm in the FTHS August Challenge this month.

I also used the new die set "Spring Showers" from Lawn Fawn. I colored with copics and used the grass die from Die-namics.

A2, twine, pop-ups, circle punch, distressed ink for clouds and moon

Monkey Business

This cute image came from the set called Monkey Business from Deedee's Digis.  The set was free since I've been participating in the monthly progressive challenge.  This month, EVERYONE can receive the outline image FREE since it is their 1st Anniversary.  I'm joining the August Challenge at Deedee's.

I'm still enjoying the Sun Burst die from Memory Box.  I made the banana in Silhouette Studio.  The tree is also from Memory Box.

A2, pop ups, stitching, Stampin Up window punch

Carousel Dolphins

Another wonderful August new release from Doodle Pantry....Carousel Dolphin!  I chose to use the image that  didn't have the carousel post, only because I had a specific use for the card...a nautical scene.

I've been wanting to do a pop-up box card for quite awhile and now was my chance.  Everything was from the Silhouette Store except the main feature...the wonderful pre-colored dolphins from Doodle Pantry.

Join our August Doodle Pantry Challenge...a great way to win a gift certificate, a free set for participation if using a Doodle Pantry image and receiving added inspiration from others.

Folds to fit into an A2 envelop, clouds for Fiskar punches

Paper is from Walmart...theme Beach, used funky scissors for waves.

Folded flat for mailing...will take extra 12 cents for bulk

Welcome Baby Girl

A very sweet Min and her DH, from the Bugaboo DT, are expecting a bundle of joy soon...a girl.  I'm so happy for her and her family.  This is the card I'm sending using my brand new "circle burst" die from Memory Box.

I'm always a little behind on buying the popular dies, but the thrill is the same when I finally get them. I was inspired to buy this die after seeing Jackie's post, Craft Designs.  I cased a card I saw on Pinterest,  but found the site, The Write Stuff.

A2, I couldn't decided to stitch or not to stitch, so I did a light white stitch.  Pearls, vellum behind wings, bought butterfly on Silhouette, but redesigned and added the tendrils in Studio.

If it makes you smile, giggle or laugh...

(Inside).... Do it again.

I've been creating a lot of giraffe cards since a friend loves giraffes.  I have to admit that this one called Jiggles Giraffe from Doodle Pantry always puts a smile on my face.

I saw this darling sentiment on a card in a challenge at Cut It Up.  When I went to the blog, it showed an error...so I can't give credit where credit is due.  Anyhow, I truly love the little sentiment.

I'm entering this card in the Cut It Up Challenge #50 (Shaped card and animal).  In the meantime, here at Doodle Pantry, we continue with our August Challenge.  You have a chance to win a delightful GC and receive a free set for entering the challenge provided that you use a Doodle Pantry image.  There are freebies in the store.

A2, I made shaped in Silhouette, string, button, pop ups, Fiskars crinklier

Thanks for the hospitality

My dear friends from Charleston always open the door to their home when I visit.  They engulf me with wonderful low-country cuisine, scenic tours, good conversation and a lot of laughter.  I've never gone this long in visiting and the trip was wonderful.

They, not so long ago, remodeled the bathroom I use when I visit, so this "just released" August Potty set from Doodle Pantry was perfect for a thank you card. I used one of the many images along with one of the sentiments for my card. I cut a hold in the potty part and added 3D flowers.

Join us for a fun August Challenge at Doodle Pantry starting at noon today.
