Flying by.....Happy Birthday!

I've made birthday cards, yet didn't get them sent out on time.  How do I manage to make cards and then not send them?  Bad habit!

The card is pretty self-explanatory.  The Art Impression airplane stamp is sold at Michaels.  I hope they start selling more...with a coupon it's a great price and instant gratification rather than waiting for the mail.

Go Gamecocks

Ok...not a great start for the football season, but we love them.  Actually, we are a "house divided".  My youngest son lives and breathes Carolina....USC!

I have less than one hour to meet deadline for From The Hearts Challenge...use any past sketch.  I love the Birdbrain Football Fanatics.  See the sketch below that I used.

Pillow Box with Autumn Patterns (Doodle Pantry)

Sniff Sniff...ahhhh...the Autumn smells!  I love the summer, but I must admit the comforting colors and smells of Autumn are hard not to love.

When I use my Print & Cut feature on my Cameo, I always cut out extra pieces in case of boo boos and sometimes not really knowing where I'm going with a project...haha  Anyhow, I had extra pieces from October 1st card using Autumn Patterns and this little pillow box project is my end result using my leftover pieces.

A sister's birthday is Thanksgiving, so I will be enclosing a gift certificate as one of her gifts.

Join our October Doodle Pantry Challenge #51... chance to win a GC and receive a free designated set by using a Doodle Pantry image.

Pillow Box file from Silhouette.  I cut and piece so I could use a 8.5x11 rather than a 12x12.  I also used scallop punch, pop-ups, raffata and an acorn charm

more of WATT'S UP !

I don't know why I'm on a kick with "lightbulbs".  Is it one of the newest images for cards?  This one is taken from My Favorite Things Die-namics, but I used Studio for the sentiment...one cut  and one  typed. I cased Lori at Inkingaloud.

I didn't show my table and chairs today.  I waited too long and the lighting wasn't right, but I haven't forgotten to do it.

A2 vertical, glitter, Lil Inker flag banner, Lil inker stitched circles, and my own stitching, along with pop- ups for dimension
cut out letters and used faux stitching on each letter.  I like the other better and will probably redo the circle on this one.

Old Door...Watts up...You brighten my day

Two entirely different themes today.  First, a pic of my shabby chic door. Friends wanted to see what I did with the old orange door.  My style is "eclectic" too say the least.  I wanted something to hide part of the refrigerator that was next to our dining area.  I started off with a completely different idea but this is the end result.  The top area for glass I haven't decided upon....frost etched glass or leave empty.

Tomorrow, I will show you my homemade table and shabby chic dining chairs.  My son says they are ghetto and embarrassed by them when he brings friends over to the house...haha

The last 2 pics are some fun, quick cards I made using My Creative Time "You're Brilliant" stamp and die set.  However, I used the filament image from Mama Elephant.  Oops...an Peachy Keen faces.

This pic was taken after I had clean the door and patched.  I worked on this at a neighbors house while our house was being built.

if you look carefully you can see a slow cooker of pinto beans cooking..haha and a piece of one of my ghetto chairs as my son says

another angle.  I set some Fall wine glasses in cubby where I usually have more wine on display.  The light works by the way and I love the old glass door know

my own handwriting for "watts up", Peachy Keen faces...boy, it's been awhile since I've used those

Apple Market

Oh Yes...it's apple time. We drove to the mountains to get our 1st supply of apples for making apple butter, apple desserts, apple fried pies and apple cider. And, of course, on the drive back we had to stop and get some hot boiled peanuts...yum yum!

Apple Market is the From The Heart Stamp of the month - October.  I've been playing along in their progressive challenge in which I receive the next month image "free".

I'm also participating in the weekly Sketch of the Week with a Twist No. 83.  I chose the twist...sponge.  I sponged the front of the card, the sky on the inside and the grass, along with a little sponging on the die cut leaves.

It was cold and very windy at the apple market

A2, grass and tree die MB, vellum cloud, wet embossing, Lawn Fawn birdie

If their is one card die that is a "must", it is the Karen Burniston Lots Of Pops die.  You could make an svg but it is  quicker to just grab this die and cut cut cut.

Charlie Horse Autumn

Yup, the leaves are turning beautiful colors and falling.  Saturday, I strolled my 1 year old grand-daughter through piles of leaves as we enjoyed the sounds of crunching leaves.  I let her crush leaves with her little hands. Yup, it was a great day!

Well, here's Charlie Horse doing the same thing...sorta.  Nothing like a good back rub!

Outside of card, leaves and acorns from Silhouette Store, I made the words with Studio, raffetta, pop-ups for dimension

Spooky Worms - Doodle Pantry

Halloween is just a fun, silly time and I enjoy it.   I made these treat bags for adult friends and family putting a Starbuck gift certificate and some Halloween die cuts in each bag.  I used an October release from Doodle Pantry called Spooky Worms. Aren't they the cutest! I aLso included some fun silver charms I won on Ebay last year.

Also added a ribbon and faux stitching

Jar Full of Thanks (Shaker Card)

Several cyber friends whose blogs I follow have me hooked on Lawn Fawn, Mama Elephant and Lil Inker dies.  I have ordered  the Summertime Set but while I wait for it, I found this very old mason jar stamp....so old that it doesn't come with a name or maker.  It was an individual and not a company.  I love the set called Everyday Jargon; I love the pun sentiments.

Even though I wasn't using the Lawn Fawn dies (which haven't arrived yet), I followed the link HERE to help guide me.  Doodle Pantry has a wonderful set of jars so I will try that set next.

It's been awhile since I have created a shaker card.  With new elements and gadgets popping up on the internet and stores, it's fun to revisit some old fun way of making new interactive cards.

A2 size, clear acetate sheet scrap, sequins, scallop punch, craft foam for jar to shake. twine, copi marker and glitter for jar top

Nut Costume Ants: Doodle Pantry

It's my oldest brother's birthday in a few days.  Happy Birthday Steve!  I did a card very similar to this on Oct. 1 and loved it so much that I changed it up some to be more masculine.  I used Nuts Costume Ants, some Spellbinder curvy dies, Winter Birthday set and homemade enamel dots.

A2 vertical, stitching, copics for some shading

another angle, glitter pen

Happy Birthday Dad

My DH's birthday was not long ago.  My son approached me about a birthday card for him.  I told him I would help him with paper choices and sketch to select from, but I was not going to help him beyond that.  I would supply other things if he couldn't find them himself...like the tape and how to use the Big Shot.  ( Why did I insist on HIM doing it...you may ask?  My DH gave me no card for my birthday ... not even a gift.  I even suggested a little note would thrill me.  My birthday came...nothing...not even a note.  Therefore, I wasn't about to make a card for DH and I really think the time my son put into his father's birthday card would be remembered and mean more at the end.

So here is his card.  I keep a small box of colored images and die cuts ready for a "moment's notice" and he chose the fun From the Heart Stamp called Birdbrain Brew and a beer mug I had bought awhile back from Silhouette.  I'm very proud of his completed card.

THINK PINK

Breast Cancer Awareness

It's sad, but honestly, I think everyone I know has had someone in their family that has had to tackle breast cancer.  I lost my aunt and two friends to breast cancer.  BUT, with today's science, I'm so happy to say I know many who have won the battle!!!

I'm actually late getting my check-up due to our moving.  I know, still no excuse, but I'm calling today to make my OB/GYN appointment and get my mammogram date set also.  I always do this it at Christmas time.  I give myself this gift.

I'm using the sweet I Will Survive image from Doodle Pantry on my little scallop bag, which came from the Silhouette Store.  I stuck a little GC and a candy bar in it for a friend.

used Fanciful Flourish and Lil Inker banner dies, ribbon and micro pen for faux stitching

Oct Release Day at Doodle Pantry..Yippee (25% off new Releases)

I have two cards for you today from some of the wonderful October sets released from Doodle Pantry. The first is a combination of two sets: Fall Patterns and Card Cut File 9.  (I added an extra acorn from the Just Nutty Set.)  Laurie's pre-colored images are so great that I simply took the sets into my Silhouette Cameo and made Print & Cut images and bam...instant card to send someone.  Actually, I made several since I can Print & Cut all in one sitting. (Click on the pic to get a closer look, especially the little sentiment.) Oops, forgot to mention that I also used some images from Winter Birthday on the 2nd card.

The next card is from Nut Costume Ants which is Free With Purchase through Oct. 28. There are several entirely different images in this fun set. It was hard to make up my mind. My inspiration came from Cheryl at Cafexpressions.

5x5, brads, stitching, string, pop-ups for dimension, white gel pen for faux stitching

angle view, the leaves on table are also from the set but I had no place to use them on front so I will use some of them inside

A2, homemade enamel dots, stitching, curved Spellbinder borders, glitter pen, white gel pen

just another angle, I shaded after pic and added some stars
