YES...FALL is in the AIR...

...well maybe not in Cocoa Beach but we try our best to wear "T-shirts" with Fall colors. LOL

I have said it more than once....my stamping addiction began when I was in Hobby Lobby back in 2005 and I came across the Stamp/Card making Department.  I didn't know one even existed!!! My eyes honed in to the cutest HOUSE MOUSE stamp.  That was it....I was hooked!

I have created with this image several times in the past. To change things up a little bit, I used a CIRCLE instead of a square box to accent one of the mice.  I forgot what this technique is called.  I also did a print and cut on the mouse sailing to the ground using glitter marker and pop-ups for dimension. Lastly, those lovely stitched leaf dies by Lawn Fawn.

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #299 is under way.  An included option is to use Fall colors. Done deal...LOL

A2, I apologize for horrible lighting.  Winds at the beach and being on top floor, blew my
cards off balcony while taking pics.  I won't do that again...LOL  Rhinestone on leaves

Added sequins and yellow brad for this one.

Homemade button and string as an accent on this one.  I did one more
and it just had a different color brad.

Let's Talk Turkey

Let's Talk Turkey - Saturday Challenge
at Catch the Bug

I did a card almost exactly like this a few weeks back.  I sold the card and missed it so much, I had to make another one, but this time I used the darling Fancy SB Girl - Thanksgiving from Bugaboo Stamps.  As a matter of fact, by the time this post today, I hope the recipients have received it. I love this DP from DCWV - Harvest Gathering.  It's hard to see, but it's textured and the trees are gold foiled.  My turkey is coming from Bucky's BBQ....yum yum! Used an old stamp and SU markers, hoofed a few breaths on it, and got the pretty leave on envelope.

Grab a turkey leg and head to Catch The Bug for more interpretations of Let's Talk Turkey.

5x5 size, copics, stitching, punch, ribbon, string, button

Share the Shame....

The pictures posted are the "after" effects of cleaning out and organizing my stamps.  It is still a work in progress.  My goal is to only have 3 rows of stamps on the white shelves and the rest unmounted in CD cases....then I have more room for other "STUFF" as my husband would say.  Before, the shelves were crammed with stamps literally on top of each other and not an inch to spare, so you can see that I have improved.  The other mess was my copics.  I had them everywhere but recently I organized them using the plastic webbing...which is working great.  Unfortunately, I only have room for 12 more markers...surely that will be enough, but I think I also made that same comment after purchasing my 12th marker.

These pictures are for the challenge at Apron Strings (Share the Shame). You "share the shame" of your bounty of stamps, but I also included my shame of copics too. Luckily you don't have to have the "before" pictures, but it would be nice.  I take pics of home improvements before and after, but not the craft room....haha

Autumn Cupcake Challenge + Freebie

My DH gave me a few hours off for good behavior (still working on kitchen) so I ran into my "happy place" and made this shape card for Paper Cupcake Challenge being sponsored by Patti Painter.  The digi image was free from Paper Cupcakes.  Get it HERE.  I changed image into an svg and made a shaped card.  It will fit a 5x5 envelop. The red is a warm red, not the bright red you see in the picture. I added lots of pop-ups for dimension, inking, a jewel and lined inside with white paper.

I can not offer the svg since it was a free digi stamp from Paper Cupcakes.  The digi image would be pretty colored with copic markers, which I also plan to do.

My svg freebie is Hello Kitty in a Halloween costume for my friend who loves Hello Kitty.  Remember, this is a trademark and can not be used in any way for profit...only for personal use.

Scaredy Cat - 2 Challenges - Freebie

First, thank you for all the wonderful well wishes notes.  All that out pouring of "get well soon" was a good dose of tasty medicine. Not quite back up to par, but I'm getting there.

The "scaredy cat" image was a freebie from  Delightful Inspirations since I participated in last weeks challenge and it's for their challenge this week.  It's also for Designed 2 Delight  OWH (Double Delight) Challenge.  Some restrictions are: keep an A2 size, no glitter, and use the image for Delightful Inspirations.  I added the scarecrow and  pumpkin patch images from Trina Clark.  I sewed, used copic markers and added brads.  I will add my sentiment on the inside. (I attempted to make the clouds look cloudy and creepy.)

The "love you" in sign language I have had quite a while.  Amanda (Lady Wolf) had it also and I helped her by clean it up when she was first learning Inkscape.  She is a PRO now....drop by her blog for some great svgs.  Well, I cleaned this up a little more to my liking last night.  I had 2 deaf and 2 blind students in my last few years of teaching high school....all wonderful students.

Cleaning out the cobwebs + Freebie

My challenge is HERE...post your card and see all the other great entries!

Bugaboo challenge is still going on.  I continue to stitch...yup...paper to paper, just like sewing clothes...no different.  My inspiration and total scraplifting came from Cammy at Bugaboo. Again, I used my husband's sledge hammer on these thick brads, copic markers, some glitter and my flower is too big, but it's not coming off..haha (Image: Calendar JJ from Bugaboo stamps)

Easel A2 card...colors are a more richer brown...will add sentiment later
Sentiment I will probably use when ready to mail.

I've had this little Hershey's Kiss man for a long time...thought I would do a svg file on him.

I would not cut all the pieces to eyes...use wiggly gooley eyes or use white marker for dots of eyes, put you own sentiment and use marker to make shoe laces.

Bugaboo bear thinking about Fall

Help make the SVG Challenge a success....post your card HERE
(Such wonderful cards posted already...go check out!)
(Posted a "raindrop" svg earlier today.)

Bugaboo  is having a A Stitch in Time Challenge (stitching and Fall colors). Sew....I dusted off my old reliable sewing machine and went to work.  I made 4 different cards and will post one each day. I used  Bugaboo bear and Trina Clark images, stitched the frame, banged some small grommets in, added some buttons, and used copic and glitter markers. This is also a OWH Challenge for today.

Challenge at Delightful Inspiration

Delightful Inspiration and Meljen's (Fab N Funky) are having a challenge and I'm using this very pretty oak leaf wreath free digi. I used my card lattice svg and vines from Svgcuts Heirloom Pumpkin Flourishes set. Copic markers and extra cut out of some leafs for dimension were used.  I needed this card in a hurry...sometimes I do my best with "hurry"...haha.
Size: A2  It's not bright green...it's actually dark but had to take pic inside

Svg Challenge

DEADLINE EXTENDED until Friday, Sept. 17 at 11:00pm

Today is the day.   It's my first challenge offered and first candy offered so I'm bound to make some type of mistake, so please bear with me.  I've spent the last 2 weeks using my svgs and Svgcuts in cards and posting to illustrate how much fun working with svgs can be...and some with digi images.  I hope they got your mojo going and you will join in on the challenge.
Choose any svg created by me and make a card...an easel and/or shaped card is also acceptable.  Use Mr. Blue bug link back to your site and to mine.  Be sure to mention which svg you used.  You may also included something from Svgcuts, but you MUST have an svg by me.  You may also include a digi image. You may have up to 2 entries, but be sure to label (ex. Mary 1 and Mary 2.)  The challenge will be through September 17 (Friday) and closes at 11:00 pm.  Winners will be announced on Sunday, Sept. 19, at 6:00 pm.  Two winners: one judged (not by me) and one randomly drawn.  Both winners will receive one collection set of their choice from SVGCUTS.  The winners will have 2 days to reply back to me so I can make the appropriate ordering.

Perk Up!...What's Brewin'...Summer Fishing

ALL FILES ARE OPENED UNTIL LABOR DAY  EVENING (6:00 PM)

Two different cards going on today.  The first is an Svgcuts cute coffee pot and cup from An Afternoon At Auntie Elaine's set.  The cup opens up to say "Get Well Soon" or  "You'll be perky again soon" .  I forgot to take a pic of the cup opened...sorry.    I used two different embossing folders for different looks.

Size: A2  (cup opens up to write sentiment)

Size: A2 (cup opens up to write sentiment and room on back to write a short note.)

If you follow me in the least bit, you know I'm a lover of the beach.  Not just the beach, but the ocean and with it comes fishing!!  I love salt water fishing and I still like the good old cane pole with the little red and white bobbin when fishing in the creek areas. It's been awhile though.  Upon looking for my tackle box to help set up a pretty shot for my card below, to my astonishment, my tackle box was EMPTY.  I know of one son who could had done that....I'll be talking to him later today.  All I could find was my seining net for shrimping.  It would have to do.  Bugaboo Challenge for Dog Days of Summer: neutral colors plus one other.  Ok...so a few red dots appeared...please forgive me.  The   Meljen's Challenge #23 said show stripes in the card...Done!

Scarecrow, Apples and Pumpkins...Oh My!

The card is my 2nd entry for Svgcuts challenge.  I was a little nervous entering even the first one....so much talent over there, but all are friends, and at the end, we are all happy if one of our fellow forum friends win.  I know the time and love I put into mine, so Lordy knows the time the others also put into theirs.  Most cuts came from Svgcuts. I used Harvest Hill  set for the scarecrow, cornstalks, gourd birdhouse, crow, apples, and apple branch.  I used Grandpa's Organic Farm for the fence. Three different pumpkins and two different vines came from the Heirloom Pumpkin Flourishes set. The "Happy Fall" was from the Fall Premium Pop-Up Cards set. I made the trellis on the front of card....which is the freebie for today.  I also made the wheelbarrow and basket on the inside of card. I also entered this in the Meljen's Challenge #23 which said to show stripes.

TRUE STORY....that inspired today's card!!

The Bugaboo theme challenge...what does "Dog Days of Summer" mean to you...(perhaps end of summer vacation, kids going back to school, less children at the mall, etc)

Well, the following is a TRUE STORY about my friend....

My friend lives at the beach. School was starting back for her son who would now be entering the 6th grade. She delighted in telling him how much she would be enjoying having the beach to herself and catching up on things that matter the most to her once school started. He walked away a little annoyed.
On the first day of school, the teacher went around the room asking each student to tell something about themselves and their family. John, still being annoyed at this mom and having to return to school proceeds to say, " I like sports, my dad works for the phone company, and my mom takes long hot baths, drinks boxed wine, sits around eating bon bons and reads trashy novels."  The class had a big laugh as the teacher hurried along to the next student.  Needless to say, my friend was "the topic of converstaion" in the teacher's lounge.  And, yes, the story got back to her since she did volunteer work at the school...of course, after she had her hot bath, drank wine, ate bon bons, and read her trashy novels.
(I'll not give names in order to protect the innocent.... and the guilty.)

This is how I came up with this card for the Bugaboo challenge.
Size: A2

Freebie for today.....pumpkin pie....yum yum!

Last Days of Summer (+ freebie)

OK...maybe not the last days of summer, but kids going back to school thing it is the last day of their lives...haha
I'm continuing this week paying tribute to Svgcuts.com and still offering svg freebies.  PLEASE check out their Card forum and see some amazing cards that have been posted by members. Most challenges seem to be in the digi stamp world, not cuts.  So I'm trying to combine the two mediums where ever possible.  Bugaboo stamps has something for everyone and every occasion so I enjoy mixing medians with their challenges. This challenge is "Dog Days of Summer" (meaning last days of summer, school starting back, etc.)  Rules: only use shades of white, beiges, blacks and one other color.  My other color for this card was "green" as was yesterday.
I used Svgcuts "Cliff's Clubhouse" set, my tropical (jungle) tree svg offered a few weeks back and Bugaboo summer butterfly bear.  I love the beach and easel cards as you can see.
Size:A2

This is my Happy Spider svg freebie

Where did the summer go!

Bugaboo has a challenge about the "Dog Days of Summer"... talking about the end of vacation, school starting back, etc.  The challenge was a challenge....haha... because you could only use shades of white, tans, blacks and one other color.  My other color was "green". Here's "bugaboo bear thinking" while relaxing on a tire swing.   I offered the free svg tire swing last month. I don't think anyone will be interested in my 1/2 tree svg for my tire swing card...haha...but here it is.

Happy Birthday with a cherry on top!!!

Such a cute digi stamp from Meljen's Designs.  I added my svg cherries with stems, some glossy accents, embossing, Trina Clark's cupcake image and called it "Happy Birthday with a Cherry on Top".   I think the card could even be used for an adult's birthday.
Size: A2 (Vertical card)

Teacher's Thought For Today! (+ Friday Freebie!)

These will be the last 2 cards for our education theme challenges for Scrappily Ever After. Friday is always "Photo" inspiration day.  I decided to make TWO cards.  The first card has a classroom teacher theme...obvious since I was a high school teacher.  I used a Bugaboo "Crabby Cathy" digi, and public domain picture of pencils and a flag. It's also for Lorraine's Simon Says Stamp  and SimonSaysStamp challenge.
Size: A2

The shaped card was made using the "Pencil Guy" from My Scrap Chick, using the same sentiment.

Size: A2

The svgs for Halloween are created just for fun, not to offend anyone.

I Love to Learn My ABC's

School has started back for students in the South.  I think the North has about 2 more weeks.  For some children, it will be their VERY 1st time....so sweet.  They get so excited about writing their name and the ABC's.  It's Photo Inspiration Day from our TL at Scrappily Ever After.  My digi snail was free from Elizabeth Dulmeba. The blocks and pencils are from Clker.com.  I used "Pages" to type my sentiment and SCAL to cut ABC. I added an apple brad.  I cleaned up and made a more friendly block svg from clker.com. Also entered it in Bugaboo "Back To School" challenge.

We continue with the "Back to School" theme for a while longer.  Our Team Leader at Scrappily Ever After challenges us and in return we help her challenge others to get the "mojo" flowing to create a card. I got my free little bee and stack of book digi's from Clker.com.  I will entered it into the Bugaboo School Challenge too.
I offered the free bee hive svg many months ago; however, this is new and improved from the last.

Love to Read and Lock svg

The OWH Sketch Challenge #30 gave us the template below to follow.  However, I also incorporated this card to be used in the Bugaboo Challenge with theme "Back To School" and having to use primary colors. I purchased Butterfly Bear from Bugaboo Stamps and the stack of books was free from Clker. com. Continuing with school...here is a freebie combination lock svg.
