I know I shouldn't do this, but I'm going to anyway...lol This morning, I fought "tooth and nail" to get these pictures of my youngest son , Mitchell, heading off to his 1st day of his senior year of high school. Just look at the JOY on his face!!!!NOT!!! Don't you just love the "forced" smile on his face in the second picture? I got it after just about threatening him...lol I need to find his 1st day of school for 1st grade and do a comparison.
Such a great Mom. It's something I'd do, esp. the threatening part. Does he always go to school barefoot? Must be a southern thing, LOL! Hope this wasn't too hard for you. The time goes soooo fast, doesn't it?! Which college did he pick? Have a blessed day, Cely.
ReplyDeleteYou're too funny Cely...he has a great smile:)
ReplyDeleteHe looks great, Cely! I'm sure he's super-thrilled that you posted his pics online! lol! It's a mom's right.....and DUTY to embarrass her children! lol!
ReplyDeleteOh i just had to drop in after seeing that pic....i can see it in his eyes he was not thrilled to be going...Kids here in Canada don't start till Sept...a few weeks left of summer, and they are NOT looking forward to going back...they are all alike.

We did the 'first day of school' picture here too with the exact same results. At least you got a decent (albeit forced) smile.
ReplyDeleteOh MOM! A handsome your lad for sure!
ReplyDeleteHe looks so thrilled! I am sure he knows you are putting him on your blog right? he will thank you when he grows up and you showed him all his pictures so he can see how much he has grown... that is priceless!
ReplyDeleteLovely pics Cely, what a handsome young man he is :o)

They're all the same the world over - my son is 21 and grimaced for each of the two photos a year I'd get of him. I laughed at the clothes too, we are in a sub-tropical area of Australia and my son had to wear a shirt and tie and lace up shoes for his summer term, even the state school students wear uniforms!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures. My son is a senior this year also. I had to get pictures the first day too, glad to see I'm not the only one. I think my son thinks I am. I will have to show him this blog. I have done this since kindergarten so I can't stop now. They will appreciate it later!!! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI had to comment. Such a nice looking boy. When my daughter was a senior (and I always took the 1st day of school pics of my two kids together) she was being so difficult, I had to photo shop the two of them together in a picture. I had them from all years past.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the time. It flies by!
Love those pictures, even if the smile was forced. I think the comparison of the two photos is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteSuch a handsome young man!!! Thanks for sharing these - I like both of them :-)
