I'm pretty sure I had a good time last night...

When Stella and Gus from Bugaboo Stamps first caught my eye, I knew I was going to be making cards with them.  I wound up being on the Bugaboo Team for several years.  I'm excited to be back creating with many of the characters that Jodie created.

I usually have a story to go with my cards. ( What inspired the card.) Here it is:  My grandfather was a doctor in a so-called "one horse town" in the South. As small as it was, there were plenty of people to fill the cells of the jail. Being concerned about these people, my grandfather (whom we called Daddy Doc) would visit the jail and offer free health care.  What I don't understand, every year the present and former "jailors" along with the officers of the law and Daddy Doc would take a huge group picture behind the jail!!! WHAT!! Go figure.  I hope I can find that pic and I will post one day.

The Stella Identity Theft image was used, along with the sentiment from Ginger's House. I cased Stamp-in-Play.  I added some keys and hooks from some old punches. I colored with copics.

I'm entering the Catch the Bug Challenge: ANYTHING GOES ( If I can't get to a computer to link my image, at least, I can give a "shout out" to Bugaboo Stamps and the fab team that help bring these awesome characters alive.)

A2, I made 4 cards with different colored dresses.  I also added clear
glitter pen to hair and purse and machine stitching.

JJ Christmas Box Surprise

For some reason this image and sentiment (JJxmasbox)made me laugh.  I could use a good laugh right now during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

When you open the card, the sentiment can kinda catch you by surprise.  This is "so not me".  I'm not ready for the dog house, but I also know I'm not in college anymore darning the tight hip hugger pants and hair to my waist....haha   I still have my hips...still have hair....and I can see my waist. I guess that still has to count for something. LOL

If I made you laugh, then I've done my job with this card!

A2, colored with copics, my own window design (svg)

Memory Box holly wine, red berry jewels, brick embossing folder with reverse inking

Inside of card... also Wink of Stella
PS...I've never woken in a box...haha

Yup...4 cards ready for next year

Take My Advice DOLL....

....pick an age and stick to it !

This is Bugaboo's JJ wine 2.  I was inspired by Billie and sorta cased her. The sentiment derived from Art Impressions.  One more card I'm adding to the Christmas Card sets! Nothing special about the template so I added dimension and an svg wine glass (free from internet) with an acetate base.

A2, colored with copics
I hope you didn't notice my personal cork holder was full

pop-ups behind girls and wine glass
PS  Inside says "Happy Birthday"

Yup, I made 4
Going to make these again but change the sentiment

Stella's view on coffee

I've done sweet, Halloween and Fall the past 2 weeks.  It's time to pull Stella out and get a little snarky. I used "Frame It Drink Coffee".

This is a total "case" of Lola at Little Card Maker.  If it ain't broke...don't fix.  I didn't have her paper so I wanted some loud and wild and some more subdued (I made the background).  I added glossy accents on coffee,Wink of Stella on "Energy" and Copics for coloring.  PS  Sale at Bugaboo Stamps that ends tonight.

No challenges to join...just wanted to make 4 cards.

A2, pop-ups for dimension behind arrow.  Yup, had to buy Little B arrow set.

Added some sequins  PS  Those are my real coffee beans.  I have a burr grinder that I use every morning for fresh coffee.

BOO

Catch the Bug (Bugaboo Stamps) was my first time being on a design team....let's go back about 6 years.  I learned a lot and made long lasting friends. Today, I decided to go back to this wonderful blog and join the Challenge #414: follow the template.  I used several Goofy Ghosts from Bugaboo.

I designed this window in Inkscape many years ago.  It was one of my first svg creations.  It has also been one of my long time favorites that I still use at least twice a month.

A2, hearts die, fern punch, Lawn Fawn "BOO" stamp and matching die, copics for coloring and pop-ups for added dimension

I added a little full moon on the left card.

Coffee

Good Grief...it took an hour to get back into my dashboard to post...something went crazy.  Whew!

I'm joining the Catch the Bug "Stella Says Sketch Challenge #412".  It's been waaaaay too long.  I fell in love with Bugaboo Stamps years ago and was lucky enough to join the design team.  It was my very first design team adventure.  Wonderful group of ladies...we even have a few gentlemen at one time.

I'm using JJ - Coffee To Go. I chose orange and purple (Clemson University) colors.  Football is right around the corner.  I have a good friend who is a "die-hard" fan.  This will be a perfect card for her.

Spring Vacation

Easter vacation to the grandparent's house or to the beach....those were our two options growing up.  I'm not sure how I will use this card.  I have some friends moving this early Spring into their new house.  We also have friends that we are going to visit over Easter break.  Either way, I think this card says "SPRING".

Catch the Bug is having a BINGO challenge.  I chose the diagonal: Spring, Player's Choice, and Die Cut....Spring flowers, my die stitched border, die cut grass, road, hills, flowers, and image.  The image is from Bugaboo called AKV - Moving. ( I printed and cut several of these "smiles" a few weeks back. Glad I found other ways to use them.)

A2, pop-ups for dimension on Smile, colored with copics and PSE

Congratulations Bryan

Bryan, our oldest son, graduated from the Citadel some years past.  Since then, he has married a wonderful young lady, has a 14 month old little girl, and is now graduating  tomorrow from Clemson Univsersity with another degree...this time in nursing, a BSN.  He will work in Critical Care (some type of ICU) for one year and then enter Anesthesiology School. (Well, he's hoping to be accepted.) He wants to become a Nurse Anesthetist.  Shannon, his wife, is a nurse anesthetist.  I hope that means I get good care in my old age....haha

So...here is my card.  I think he will like this fun card over a more serious one I first had in mine. I left the images "just as they are"....no coloring.  The rest of the card is pretty much self explanatory.  All the images are AKV Male Nurses from Bugaboo Stamps...precious!

A2, stitching, Clemson colors

Shopping For Two...Baby and Me

(This card was posted for about 15 min. 2 weeks ago before I realized I posted wrong, so I immediately took down.  One or two of you may had seen this before the removal...oops) Most friends know that my son and darling DIL are expecting their first child.  That being said, it will be our 1st grand-baby.  I will continue to send her little cards along the 9 months...of course, I haven't forgotten about my son, but this particular card is for her.

This is Pregnant JJ - Shopping for Two from Bugaboo Stamps.  JJ's a hoot!  I have three fun images of Pregnant JJ I will be using over the next several months.  I added a silver purse charm for a little extra fun... afterall, she IS shopping!

Baby Makes Three

I made a mistake and posted "Shopping for Two" when this is the one I wanted to post since Catch the Bug was having it's weekly Stella Says Sketch #34 challenge.  Oh well! UPDATE: I took down "Shopping for Two" and will re-post later this month....hope it works...haha (Challenges below)

AKV-Expecting is this week's freebie from Bugaboo Stamps. Hurry and get it while it's still free.  I tweaked the sketch to suit my needs. I TOTALLY CASED Lola's card.  Pretty CAS (clean and simple)!

Sittin' n Thinkin'

It's time for me to pull out my lovable Bugaboo Stamps.  I have many colored but have not made cards.  I saw Stella Says Sketch Challenge #133 and knew it was time.  I made several cards with this fun sketch.

I used Itchy from Bugaboo Stamps and sat him in a chair image...also from Bugaboo.

A wheel good time

Just love the happiness on this little boy's face.  He looks like he's having a "wheel good time".  He's   an AKV-Summer Sports- Biking from Bugaboo Stamps.  I followed a challenge sketch from Friday's Sketch Challenge #37.  My DH chuckles how I try to rationalize some cards.  The red, then yellow, then green circles were my interpretation of a traffic light.  Did any of you "get it"!  haha

A2, stitching, circle punch, brads, copics and a pop-up

A Celebration is in Order

The BBrat Girl from Bugaboo Stamps is one of the images I colored while hospital sitting my husband using some of my favorite Spring colors. Today I have the opportunity to enter into their Catch The Bug Bingo Challenge.  I'm leaving off the sentiment  until time to use.

Yup, I used my window and flower box svg.  The flower die is new from Memory Box. ( I use to love sitting in the living room window and then jumping out..that was right before air-conditioning was invented and we were the first on the block to get it.  From that point on my mother kept the windows shut...no more fun!)

A2 vertical, brick embossing folder, pop-ups, MS border punch, twine, liquid pearls

Bandaide Male Nurse

My son graduated from The Citadel...Military College of the South. However, 3 years after graduating, he decided to go back to school...nursing school.  His wife is a nurse anesthetist, so maybe there will be two in the family in a few more years.

Several people that I follow on blogs have done cards with bandaids or images with bandaids.....I just couldn't wait any longer to try my hand at one and use it on Stella Says Sketch Challenge #129 at Bugaboo Stamps.  The image is called AKV Male Nurse - Bandaide.  I used my go-to homemade RX symbol svg, but this time I left the heart out in the center.

A2, stitching, twine, brads, copics, RX svg, embossing folder

More Dino Heart (2nd post today)

I did a few more cards using the same sketch and darling "Dino Heart 1" image from Bugaboo Stamps.  I change the paper, words and silver embellishment and added some ribbon to meet criteria for a Catch the Bug Bingo Challenge...oops.... too late....it's over....oh well!  The BFF is going to stand for Best Family Friend.

2013-01-28

Hello...OMG...

...it's been too long since we have talked!

Well that is the sentiment I'm sticking with for this card.  Time flies and then you realize how long it's been since you got together with a friend or relative.

I used Dino Heart 1 from Bugaboo Stamps.  What a sweetie image.  Joan's Garden's challenge has been hard for me since I'm not one to do much pink and white on cards but I'm giving it a second try.  My inspiration was Lola from Little Card Maker.  I've done my Valentine cards so I've attempted to make this card a go-to card that I can use throughout the year.

A2, stitching, MS punch, eyelets, metal embellishment, pop-ups, copics, twine

The Perfect Shot (Warning: Racy!)

My "in-law" is a huge camera buff.  During the next 6 weeks I continue creating fun, uplifting cards for him.  I used Bugaboo Stamps "Sassy Gal Nurse" image.  I used a Silhouette Store camera file and added my own embellishments to it. I made a strap from leather strips. It has silver buttons, but looks black in the photo. ( I checked with his daughter and wife regarding the image before starting and they loved it..so it's a go..haha)

A2 size, SU window punch, leather strap

stethoscope  embellishment, copics

Challenges:
Catch the Bug:  Anything Goes
Tammy's Scrapin Corner: Manly card

Snow Angel (2nd posting today)

This little snow fairy has the happiest little smile.  I made several of these little cards since they were quick and easy and can be another "go-to" during the winter months...even Valentines where I used a little heart Silhouette file die I made. The rest...copics, glitter, punches, embossing folders and stitching!

She's from Bugaboo Stamps called Winter Fairy - Snowflakes.  Bugaboo has a great 50% off sale going on now!

A2, size, ribbon too

Challenges:
QKR Stampede: snowmen, snowballs, snow angels, snow

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving

One of my favorite Fall/Thanksgiving images from Bugaboo Stamps is AKV Fall Wheelbarrow Kids.  It's a CAS card, but to jazz it up, I made it an easel card. Some ribbon, Spellbinder scallop die, acrylic button, copics and I'm happy with the look.  All my inspiration came from Deloris at Stampin at the Lake. (Going "out on a limb" here with the theme for Catch the Bug..the birdie has tail feathers...haha)

Will fit in an A2 envelop

Photos of easel cards is hard for me...haha
Challenges:
Sentimental Sunday: dimension and sentiment
Catch the Bug:  Things with tails

Quick Out-the-Door Personalized Cards

Each year I make my World Travelor SIL formal embossed cards with just her name on the card for business.  But, then I throw in those silly, quick cards like below.  The first is simply black and white with just accents on the princess crown.   The second, is colored with copics and just Xerox - ed ten times.  The third is what you make when you drop ink on the card and you don't want to waste the image....haha  I used the adorable Scarlette Cafe from Bugaboo Stamps.

Coloring = 10 minutes, copying and printing a batch of 15 cards = 2 minutes, embossing = 5 minutes and glitter pen on crown took 2 minutes, folding the cards and putting my name on back = 3 minutes.  Start to finish....22 minutes  You may say, "well, that looks like a 22 minute production of 15 cards", but there are those days that "this is all you need" and someone will enjoy it no matter WHAT it looks like...haha

Black and White, with gold glimmer on crown..all cards are embossed.

Colored one, scanned and ran 10 through the printer

This is how you make a card when you drop ink on it and don't want to waste the image.
PS  I merged a public .png princess crown image to Scarlette's head.
