Apple harvest time

Took my last road trip to get apples but there are still plenty to be had.  This is part of the lovely Apple set from Doodle Pantry.  The branches are dies from Memory Box.  The flowers are just old punches and I distressed them.  This is the last of a wonderful paper pack that had a man theme.  I made this again this year since I had some extra pieces and that wonderful paper.

Your Strength Amazes Me!

I made several of these cards.  I have several people I could learn from regarding strength. Hunter continues to progress.  He no longer has extra oxygen going into his trachea and sits up without assistance.  A good friend is going through her third series of chemo.   She takes yoga, walks everyday, cooks for her husband daily, 82 in age and thanks God each day she is given.  A family member has a brain tumor....this mountain of strength is working till the day before her surgery and will be headed to the MidEast 4 weeks after her recuperating time. Yup, these are just some of the amazing people I know.

I fell in love with card making upon discovering a House Mouse stamp at Hobby Lobby 6 years ago.  I STILL love love love the house mouse characters. The image stamp is called Heavy Lifter. The word stamp is called Your Strength found on the same page.  (I kept the card somewhat simple since I was sending one of these cards to Hunter and didn't want it too girly...haha)

Bushel of Apples

I made this quick, clean, little Fall card for the progressive challenge with Creative Chicks #22 at SNB. I hoped to post a freebie svg, but substituted for a class of high school special students that I adore.....so no svg tonight, but I'm working on one for tomorrow. The good news, I earned money that I can spend on my crafting addiction.

Size: A2, sewing, snb image, copic markers, die-cut, punch, embellishment.

Svgcuts Challenge.....Bugaboo Challenge.... (+ freebie)

Svgcuts has a August Challenge going on...pop over there and see some awesome cards and some great prizes. Svgcuts is where it all got started for me! Mary makes gorgeous svg sets and Leo is the man that bails we out when I have a problem with my computer not talking nicely to SCAL or a svg file gives me trouble. An svg can bring me to tears at times!
I wasn't planning to enter the challenge with all the competition.  But, they are all my friends over there and I would be happy if any of them won.  Hey, if YOU take the challenge, I would be happy if you won too!!!
Back to the card...EVERYTHING is from Svgcuts: Autumn Elements (words), Heirloom Pumpkin Flourishes (inside pumpkin and all vines), Harvest Hill (Scarecrow and crow), Our Thanksgiving Gathering(frame), Fall Premium Pop-up Cards (inside sentiment) and somewhere the scallop frame(outside). Lots of pop-up dimensions, inside and out. I weaved straw into the frame and tied a bow. I tilted the scarecrows head for fun, but I did lower the scarecrow so head wouldn't be sticking out even though it fit into envelop without being moved. A2 size card...shading, button and dots.
Outside of card  - A2 size

Now the Bugaboo Challenge...Any digi image can be used but your card can only have shades of white, tan, black and one other color.  My other color was teal.  The center scallop shell is bronzed embossed with pop-ups for dimension. My digi image is from Elizabeth Dulemba.  A freebie from last week.

Thank You Teacher

At Scrappily Ever After, our team leader challenged us to create a teacher  "Thank You" card.  It's never too early to thank some of those special teachers.  Someone from the svgcut.com forum posted the silhouette, but can't find who.  If you know, please let me know so I can give credit.  I stamped apples for background, the words are red foil and size: A2.  Instead of my apple svg, I decided on a SU stamp scrap.  Many apple svgs around, but here is my freebie apple svg.
UPDATE: The silhouette is from "Denise's Scraping Room"

Hope you are having a wonderful week!

Share an apple with a friend

I'm into fruit and bugs lately...haha   I love the episode on the "Andy Griffith Show" when Andy trying to teach Opie the value of "sharing".  Opie thought the worm was entitled to some of the apple since it was important to share...needless to say he wasn't getting the point that Andy was trying to stress.  Download HERE for apple with worm.  Thanks for dropping by my blog.
