Happy Birthday music

I'm trying to find more ways to incorporate the La Rue Flourish die by Memory Box into a variety of cards.  I have a weakness for dies....some are very expensive.  I'm trying to rationalize my addiction by using more this coming month...haha

I used "Happy Birthday" sheet music as one of my background papers and inked the edges. A little stitching, button, pearl, flower, music and leaf punch and I think I have a quick, pretty, CAS birthday card waiting to be mailed.

When you come to the end of your rope...

...tie a knot and hang on...(quote by Franklin D. Roosevelt)

It was instant love for this image when I saw Cheryl's at Cafexpressions.   The image source is unknown.  The free sentiment was from Rainbow Echo Designs at Whimsy Stamps back in June 2010. I removed the rope knot image and made a real rope knot with heavy thread...colored it yellow with copics.

A quick and CAS card, so I made several to send to friends and family. ( I also used Cheryl's sentiment on some of the cards.)

Wishing you a day bright with sunshine...

CAS is "in" right now....maybe it's a summer thing.  Anyhow, I cased a card I saw on Pinterest. I'm doing better with saving original artist's names, but slipped on this one.

I used a Memory Box swirl die and a Peachy Keen face stamp.  I'm trying to "jass up" my faces with highlights and shadows.  I also cased the sentiment.  I just used Pages on my Mac to type it.

Delight in the little things

This is one of my favorite sentiments.  As I get older, I'm appreciating the little bits of time I can steal to be with family and friends..talking, laughing and the camaraderie.  I appreciate those last few strawberries that are  begging to be eaten...haha  I like getting those last few blueberries off the bush before the birds get them...but trust me...I left them plenty...haha   I appreciate being able to take my dogs for a walk because I wasn't sure what kind of shape I was going to be in after back surgery.

Yup, delight in the little things.  And, I'm delighted to create a card with the mice and raspberries from the Berry Nice Mice set from Doodle Pantry.

Getting older is just a part of life...

(inside)   ....YOU go first!!!

My DB's birthday is just a few days away.  Too bad he lives so far away.  I'm sending several cards and spreading them out over a few days just for fun.

I'm almost embarrassed to show this card being so CAS.  I wanted to add more, but I really wanted the background paper to shine.  I think he will be happy just knowing I sent a card(s).

This is Melvin from Art Impressions....one of the many I colored several months back and just now getting around to putting it on a project.

Let Freedom Ring

Freedom Eagle is one of Doodle Pantry's June Releases.  I appreciate this release in June so I have time to make some cards and get in the mail before July 4th.

I used Spellbinders Splendid Circle die, I cut out a circle 4.14" on my Silhouette Cameo.  I used a 2.25 circle punch and fussy cut around the wings.

Come along...join the Doodle Pantry June Challenge....still plenty of time.  You have a chance to win a gift certificate and will also receive the Quirky Stork set free just for participating .

A2, twine, and two types of brads

Orange-Pineapple-Banana smoothie

I just made me a wonderful smoothie.  I received a Vitamix as a Christmas gift...how unbelievably cool is that.  I have used it for so many wonderful smoothies, soups, dips, etc.

Anyhow, I'm now going to enjoy my smoothie and take the puppies for a walk!

Yum Yum (fresh sliced pineapple,  an orange, 1/2 ripe banana and ice)

My First Days

I'm down to my last page spread other than the intro page.  I really struggled with this one....trying to match the personalities of my son and DIL.  Anyhoooo, keeping their ideas and my elation "in-check" was a bit hard with the theme for this page.

The images are from Studio Girls.  I tried to do a digital scrapbook page to print out and I struggled with it not knowing the "ins and outs" of this procedure; therefore, I decided after being frustrated with the whole page, to just use the Print & Cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo for the onesies, clothes line and bulldog clips.  (But, this affords me to enter into the Silhouette Challenges - Print N Cut this month.)  I used a frame/border/label die from Cheery Lynn and a Spellbinders picot circle die.

Tea Time

(inside):  It's not gossip; it's necessary information!

There's something a tad more eloquent in gossiping over tea in a Tea Room than over coffee in a Starbucks...haha  But when all is said and done we make sure to "Bless his/her heart".

It was time to make some cards with Art Impression images I had colored while my DH was in the hospital back in February.  Yup, that's how long they have been sitting on my desk.  Isn't this kitty a hoot and that birdcage for a hat...bah ha ha ha!  I'm still trying to keep the cards clean and simple...something about hot weather that does it to me.

I hope you can see the darling silver teapot/teacup charm at the bottom, under the bow.  I bought a whole bunch on ebay so I thought I had better start using them.

Home is Wherever....

...you perch!
(The mother of my SIL just moved...the perfect card for her.)

The post for this card has been one big nightmare and mess up.  It posted two days before the June Release "kick off" day.   I thought I was careful with the posting pre-setting time.  WEll, I quickly took it down but several people saw it anyway.  I then pre-set the date and dog-gone if it didn't post again at the wrong time.  Now folks, I know how to pre-set my dates....I do it ALL the time.  Anyhooooo, this is the official posting and it will be staying....but it may be deja vu for some of you.

The birdie I used has now been replaced by Happy Birdie at Doodle Pantry.  The new birdie has a sweeter peak, comes pre-colored and with bg papers.  It is now free with purchase.  I also used the bib from the Oh Baby set  release this June from Doodle Pantry.

Come play along with us in our June Challenge at Doodle Pantry.  You will receive the adorable Quirky Stork just for playing along...isn't that great!

The Good Old Days.....

....Friday night with friends and family around the piano singing....just like in Mayberry with Andy,  Aunt Bee and friends!  As a child, I had a bird.  Every time I opened my mouth it would scream and heaven forbid if I started singing and/or playing the piano...so this image reminded me of "the good old days".

I used Betty from Art Impressions, a scallop die from LaLa Land and a silver birdcage/bird charm.

A2, I also used stitching, copics, twine, brads, and acrylic sentiment

Well behaved women rarely make history..

...quote from Laurel Thatcher!  Sometimes my friend and I have"pushed the envelop" on trying to get away with something...so I opted for this sentiment and will be sending her this card.  I won't name names...lol

Same two images from Dearie Dolls that I merged Thursday.  I haven't used my window in a long time so now was a good time to dust some off.  Again, I kept it CAS, quick and easy!

Consider Yourself Hugged Today

I'm having a grand time making some CAS cards with images from some of my favorite companies that I have neglected for a while....this one being from Art Impression. The image makes me smile every time I see it.

I'm using Beach House  summer color pad from Color Bok, a die from MB, scallop border from La La Land, and an acrylic sentiment.

A2...also some pop-ups for dimension,  ribbon, copics and stitching

Beast"est" of Friends

I have to stop every once in awhile and do some fun cards with Dearie Doll images.  Mary Ellen, the artist, has creative the most fun little beastly characters these past two weeks.  I decided to merge two images (My Beast Friend and Ballerina Beast) to made a "Beastest of Friends" cards.  I will post the other tomorrow.

I'm working on CAS (clean and simple) as well as quick and easy cards.  There is even NO SEWING..lol  Font is from Lettering Delights.

Lovin' Summer

This adorable pre-colored image called Innertube Girl is from Dearie Dolls.   Mary Ellen is one talented person and shares her images freely.!  Isn't that grand!

This girl immediately reminded me of my best friend in Mt. Pleasant, SC.....I simply changed the hair colored to make it look more like Carola.  Carola and I love going to Wild Dunes (right on the beach), lay out in the pool while having an awesome view of the ocean, drink our favorite drink,  and take walks on the beach.  When we return to her house, her DH Harry always has something good grillin'...be in chicken, fresh fish or shrimp.  Now that is how I like spending my days in the summer!

A2, glossy accent on water, glass and eye glasses, little silver glitter on the hair (sorry Carola), wave die from MB, stitching and pop-ups  (sea shells from our walks on the beach)

A little pinch of this....

....a little smidgen of that!  Yup, that's how I cook....and my family is happy!

I merged two Doodle Pantry images together.  The main attraction is the new Vintage Cooking set. ( The set is free with purchase from June 1-24.) I used the flour sifter and the measuring spoon.  I also used Happy Birdie, which by the way, is also free for the next few days.

Extra elements are the old looking muffin pan, wooden spoon, measuring spoons from Svgcuts.com and my chef hat svg that I turned into a png.

Come and join-in on the Doodle Pantry June Challenge and receive the Quirky Stork Set for free...that's cool!

A2,  stitching, twine and it's NOT a baby card...haha

Smiles, smiles, smiles

This is the right side of the page to the "Precious Little Parts".  I think the two will compliment each other. Well, that's the plan....haha  Again, I was inspired and "cased" something I found on Pinterest, but I guess I don't understand how to find the original post to give credit.

I added a little bit of my own whimsy and plan to put another sentiment "You make us smile all over our face".  I'm too tired and lazy to take another pic.  Ok, one more page and then the cover.  The 1st birthday pages will be put on hold until they have a theme as the 1st birthday nears.

Precious Little Parts

Okay...I'm down to the last two pages for the "1st year" scrapbook.  I'm ready to take a break and get back to cards.  On this layout, the pages don't carry the same theme, but I worked with the same colors. (Right side of page posting later this week.)

This may not look too interesting right now, but the finished photos attached will be great.  Shannon's stepfather is a fantastic photographer, so he can capture the images I am wanting for this page. Below my scrapbook page is the inspiration and the CASE.  I looked hard to find the original designer on Pinterest but to no avail.

South Carolina tumbler gift

I picked up a bunch of these clear tumblers, along with some colored, at the Dollar Tree.  Yup, everything is $1...great!  I love personalizing these glasses as a quick gift token.  If they get lost or break, it was only $1.  My friend Harry accidentally ran over his (a story for another day), and had really become attached to his glass....his had a bone fish on it.  Anyhooooo, I was happy to make him another....took all of 5 minutes.

This one is for my friend Angela who is giving it to a fellow counselor.  Her friend is moving way up north and wanted Lynn to hopefully remember her wonderful time in SC.  The palmetto tree and crescent moon combo is out state logo.

If you scroll down the right hand side of my blog you will find the free SC logo that is always available for download.

Oooohhhh Baby!

I've been working on the grandbaby's scrapbook, but now it's time to take a break and make some cards.  How exciting that Laurie at Doodle Pantry came out with some wonderful June Releases....and three are baby orientated. I made a shaped card with the onesies from the Oh Baby set. I used copics on image, Silhouette for the background shape and did some paper piercing.

Come along and view the great June Releases at Doodle Pantry.  Just by participating in the challenge (use any image from Doodle Pantry), you will receive Quirky Stork free.  How cool is that!!!
