Second Chair - Cottage/Shabby Chic

This chair went a lot quicker.  I used vaseline on areas that I wanted to show bare wood.  The paint came off with hardly any sanding...great trick. (Confession:  I couldn't find the vaseline so I used Vick"s vapor rub....same thing but helped open up my sinuses.....haha)

We decided to go with a different fabric for each chair.  This was a great little Waverly fabric my husband picked out.  We like the chairs so far and if we get tired, just rip off the fabric and repaint for "next to nothing."

I start on the next set tomorrow!

  3. Good choice on that wonderful fabric...too funny about the vicks....I happened to use some the other week and as I looked at the label the date was stamped 2001...so you found another use for good old vicks vapor rub

It was really appreciated because I am amazed at how busy you have been and yet found the time to stop by.

  6. What great chairs you're going to have when you finish, Cely! No matter how much smaller the new house, a large table will be such a necessity. I agree with the vote to keep it. But I'm not sure I would have undertaken the job on the chairs in the middle of my packing for a move. lol You're a better and braver woman than I, my friend! Good luck.

  8. LOL! you literally did make me laugh out loud. My Bean loves vicks, and I can't stand the stuff. I still can't figure out how to get it on her chest without getting it on my fingers first (nope, don't have rubber gloves hanging around). Your chairs are gorgeous! Love this pattern. Read the subject....2nd chair, why did I miss the 1st chair. So, your first chair is just as impressive and you have the cutest little puppy dog!!
