I have yet to start on a scrapbook for my youngest son who is now in his freshman year at college. I decided to try my hand at a digital scrapbook with the help of Celeste (a very long time cyber friend) at Touched By A Butterfly and using My Memories Version 4. I have seen no tutorials, but the program is user friendly.
There are a lot of freebie files to help with the digital scrapbooking. So until I know what I'm doing, I will use "freebie" stuff before making any purchases. I used a freebie file from Zena's Place. Lucky for me she used the same colors as my son's school colors.
Again...this is my first ever...so be nice...haha
12x12, but I also did a 8.5x11 for digital frame |

Very nice!! I am sure he will love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I've never tried this either. There's another thing for my bucket list when I retire! LOL! Wonderful layout and fun elements!
ReplyDeleteHi, Cely! Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment! I am so glad to have a new place to visit for inspiration and tutorials.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job with your first digital page.

You are a brave woman! I have toyed with the idea of digital scrapbooking, but I think I love my paper too much.
ReplyDeleteYour page turned out great. Your son is a handsome young man!
Great job! That turned out fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYou and I are enjoying our Sunday ( I have posted twice as well)! In between watching the football playoffs and crafting, I am checking in with my friends. Love your digital page. I bought the MDS software from SU over black Friday weekend and love it, it is also user friendly and I have loved being able to merge my images with the Cameo. Your son is handsome and you are so right about the colors being perfect. Great job! I also love your Hello Kitty gift, you are so very clever. I hope to be able to use my Cameo as well as you someday.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of the day.

ReplyDeleteCely you did a fantastic job! I have not tackled scrapbook pages yet, but I am considering doing one for my son's military experience.

It looks great, Cely! Even as a seasoned digital scrapper, I still use templates and pre-designed layouts - they're a fantastic way to put together memories!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the next one!
You're off to a great start! You'll be finished in no time!

I am so happy to hear that there are others who are just as far behind as I am in my scrapbooking. My own children's lives have never been scrapped and the last 2 grandchildren are now 2 and 4 mos. and not the first page has been done. I guess we're too busy "making" the memories to "scrap" them!
ReplyDeleteJackie
Great Job at your first digital scrapbook. thanks for the link.. I do both paper and digital.
ReplyDeleteNo need to be "nice", Cely -- this is a magnificent layout! I'd never share with you my first scrapbook page. lol I think a year or so after I did it, I took it apart and re-did the whole thing. That first layout was so busy, I'm afraid the 2 photos got completely buried. :-D Yours are wonderfully framed and the eye just goes right to them. I love your cheering crowd of graduates at the bottom!
ReplyDeleteI think you created a marvellous page!

I have seriously been considering doing this for my girls. I wanted to do "paper" scrapbooks, but don't see that happening. So, you have these layouts....then what? Print them out? Do you find this as satisfying as a traditional scrapbook?
ReplyDeleteGood for you!!! Not much of a scrapbooker here, but sure wish I was! Love it!
