Just sittin' and waitin'...

(inside)...till May 8 when I see you!

I'm headed back to Rhode Island for a college graduation party for my niece.  I love it when family can get together for happy occasions.  I'm leaving a few days earlier than my family to have more quality time to visit with my SIL's mother and husband.  Sweet people!

I sorta went shabby chic with the Sketches by Carly challenge.  I adore the Penny Doll - Sitting Pretty  image from Bugaboo Stamps.

Fall...a little early

I know it is turning hot, the flowers are blooming and the strawberries are almost ready to pick...BUT...I had this darling AKV - Fall Leaves from Bugaboo Stamps colored for awhile.  She was like a little orphan and she needed a card to call "home".  The Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge  #151 was the perfect avenue. She now has a home!

GiANT Thank You

GiANT Thank You

My son, Mitchell, had a birthday recently and needed some Thank You cards.  Like many teenagers, he waited till the last minute and needed them now, now, now!!!  I made 4 cards in 18 minutes, less time that it would take you to get in your car and go buy them somewhere.

CAS (Clean and Simple) can make a statement as nicely as LAL (Lovely and Lavish).  I wanted to display the versatility of the Ant Accents Pre-Colored Set from Doodle Pantry.  He liked them well enough to be thinking "ahead" (praise the Lord) of Thank You notes for graduation time.  Yes, he's a SENIOR...yippee!

If you find yourself in a hole.... (shovel and axe svg)

.... the first thing to do is stop diggin'.

Boy, how many times have I found this to be true!!!   Maybe that's why I chose Digging Ant from Doodle Pantry to create a card this week.  My momma always said, "Your mouth is your own worst enemy"! LOL

I made the shovel and pick axe svg.  If you live in SC or Georgia, the pick axe is a tool shed staple.  It's not called the "red hills of Georgia" for nothing.  Our red dirt is more like "red clay". (The sky background is hard to see due to lighting, but great tutorial is HERE.)

Supplies: copics, stitching, pop-ups for dimension, spellbinder oval die, Silhouette grass, made green frame using Silhouette shapes, A2 size.

You can purchase the svg set for $1.00.  It will also come with .studio files.  Contact info is at end of "profile".

If I had a flower for....

...every time I thought of you,
I could walk in my garden forever!

It's a "gooshy" sentiment that I sometimes like to use.  I do have a soft side at times...lol  I used the lovely and dainty Daisies from Bugaboo Stamps.  Sometimes I like to "doll up" the inside as much as the outside.

The card is for Party Time Tuesday Challenge. (see image below) Inspiration: KittieKraft
Copics, stitching, homemade svgs, lace, punches, Silhouette ivy file

I used my window and flower box svg.  I also made the fence, flower stems and shutter svg. The 4 window sets with flower box are $1.50.  Fence and flower stems set: $.75  OR combine both sets for $2.00  Shutters are free with the windows set.  CHECK OUT THE LINK ON TOP OF MY POST FOR MORE SVGS.

I'm back!

Just a real  quick note to let my friends and followers know I have been out-of-town and out-of-state pretty much for the last 4 weeks.  I even left my images and copics at home just for a little break and "down-time".  I've missed some wonderful posting by fellow bloggers.  There is no way to catch up on all the commenting on so many awesome creations.  I apologize for not leaving comments even though I would sometimes grab a minute or two while away to check sites on my IPhone.

Now back to reality and getting back in the card and svg groove...lol

Bluejay

Bluejays get a "bad rap", but they are beautiful just the same.  The Bluejay Set from Doodle Pantry is one of this month's New Releases.   I used copics, but it also comes pre-colored...isn't that great!

My pine trees mesh with other trees in my yard so I thought this combo would give the card a little extra dimension. I chose not to emboss the brown cardstock for extra texture; I was worried that it would look too busy.

Fish Whisperer

inside.......FISH WHISPERER

(OBG) Oldie But Goodie Thursday
at Catch the Bug

Gus - Fish Whisperer from Bugaboo Stamps was the perfect image to use for a birthday card for our friend Harry.  Harry has taught me all kinds of fishing tips and tricks over the years.  We have shrimped at midnight on the outskirts of Charleston Harbor and puttered down the Wando River in Charleston.  Yup, some of my fish tales have grown...lol But, Harry still puts up with my "sometimes" ineptness at fishing. Being on the water is being in one of my happy places!!!

This is a pretty CAS card.  I have my own cattail svgs, but I chose to use a Silhouette cattail file today.  Some copics, stitching, fish brad and glossy accents for glasses and I call it done.

Thoughts of You...

How often do you take the time to adorn the "inside" of your wonderful homemade card?  Sometimes I leave my biggest presentation for the "inside" rather than the "outside" of my card as a nice little change of pace.

Critter Tops (Birdie Top) from Doodle Pantry was the perfect image to adorn and surround the sweet and simple poem on the inside of the card.  I choose "yellow" to work with because research says it is the least favorite color chosen by people....I was feeling up to the challenge.  My inspiration: Kittie Kraft, check out her awesome blog.

A2 size   (outside of card)

MFT lace circle, Memory Box Swirl, MS leaf punch, EK flower punch, Cheery Lynn flourish, leaf and reed bird die, Silhouette open leaf die, embossing folder, pearls

Easy Chicken Pot Pie

ANYTHING GOES Saturday Challenge
at Catch the Bug

This is the 2nd part of the wedding present I was commissioned by my brother and SIL to do.  On Thursday, I posted the wine bottle topper, staying with the theme.  I thought the recipe page was rather large, but maybe that's how they do it in Switzerland...lol

I used the adorable Roly Poly Chef - Pie from Bugaboo Stamps. The bottle is from the Our Thanksgiving Gathering set from SVGCuts.  The pie was a Silhouette Store file.  I also used copics, glossy accents and stitching.  I had to keep it "flat" since it was going into a recipe binder.

Join the fun at our Catch The Bug challenge this week.  Theme: Anything Goes

A4 size

Posted this past Thursday for OBG Day

It's a Wedding....

OBG Thursday
at Catch the Bug

My brother and SIL commissioned me to do a matching recipe page and wine bottle topper. The metric system is used in Switzerland, so I had to do some conversions to meet the requirements.

Their friend, who is getting married, loved my Easy Chicken Pot Pie recipe, so I adjusted it to fit the recipe book the wedding party is going to give the couple.  The page must also include a wine selection and carry the same theme on the decorated bottle....all of which will be given to the couple at the wedding in Switzerland.  My recipe is shamefully easy, but if he likes it, and wants it...who am I to question...lol

Today, I'm showing the wine decoration and this Saturday (April 7) I will post the recipe sheet on the Catch The Bug challenge.  I used Roly Poly Chef - chalkboard from Bugaboo Stamps.

Copics, button, ribbon, punch. Memory Box die,  Silhouette grapes
