Cely in the Sand!

           I can't get over a special  treat I found on The Zoo Crew sight.  My name in the sand!!!! That was soooooo special to me.  A special someone was at the beach and remembered "ME"....little old "ME" and took the time to write my name in the sand and take a picture.  The picture wasn't even sent to me.  It was on her blog when I went to visit her fun site and see pics of her adorable feline friends.   And, there it was!!!  Anyhooo,  if you know me in the least little bit, I'm such a lover of water, beach, sand, fishing....even the heat, humidity, and gnats.

My spanking new DIL has a friend that is expecting twins.....that's really cool, for her, not for me.  You would have to put me in a "loony bin".  Anyhoooo, "Peapod Twin Girls" digital image from Bugaboo Stamps, couldn't have come at a better time.  I took liberties and made one a boy.  I was going to put little faces on the peas in the pod, but then I figured they haven't "hatched" yet, so there really shouldn't be any faces...lol   Pea pod svg is from Treasure Box Designs.

....Happy Fall.

Summer is very favorite season, but if it has to leave at least I get the pleasure of the "ohhs and ahhs" of the beautiful Fall colors now arriving.

Today, we celebrate two new releases at Paper Pretties. Remember: each image comes with at least 2 sentiments! Bear is having a wonderful time just a swingin'.  I remember doing that as a little girl, then jumping off the swing into a big pile of leaves.

I used a sentiment stamp from the Heirloom Traditions set at Punkin' Patch Stamps  and two different cards from the Fall Pop-up Card Collection from SVGCuts.  With all the textures and colors of Fall, I wanted to be careful that the card didn't become "too busy".

I did this card almost identical from a card last Wednesday.  I wanted to show you how versatile this Breezy Backyard Lever Card Set from SVGCuts is and to continue introducing some of the fun new stamp sets from Punkin' Patch Stamps.   I added my own sentiment and my own svg torch. The ghost is a freebie svg also from SVGCuts.

I love that this card will hide a little battery operated tea light behind the yellow mulberry paper to add some fun ambiance and that it folds to fit an A2 size envelope, minus the tea light.

I just love Lily Ladybug - Fly from Bugaboo Stamps. This week's challenge calls for the colors pink, green and black.....my favorite colors to work with these last summer days. I bought 3 DP papers that I thought would be perfect.  When I finished, I hated it...so much for the DP paper I cut up in a million pieces to try and make work...LOL   Half a day later I was happy with this card.

Stella witch is from Bugaboo Stamps....love love all the series from Jodie, the creator.   The spider web is from Heather M.  I used the Faith file from "Breezy Backyard Lever Card "set made by SVGCuts.  I also used a freebie ghost from SVGCuts.  The pumpkin image is from a new stamp set from Punkin' Patch Stamps owned by SVGCuts.  The line starts selling within the next few days.  I made the torch svg and will offer it again this year.  I used mulberry paper to help cast the tea lights flickering.  It's an A2 size, but will take 2 stamps.

This stamp is from the set, "Witching Hour".  I plan to do several more and use the "witching hour" sentiment along with a few others.  I had such a good time with this image.  The sentiment is from an image I have from Bugaboo Stamps called Stella Witch. I LMAO! I could just see these 2 sister witches laughing about Dorothy and Toto.

A little sewing, homemade flowers, MS fern punch,  and some other embellishments was all I think was needed.

EVERYBODY has a bad day now and then!  While I was teacher, I made a pact with my students.  I said, "I will let you know when I'm having a bad day and you do the same for me and that way we will all survive the day."  We all liked to "joke around", but some days were NOT those days.   The pact worked 99% of the time.  We all did our best to respect each other's bad days.  My students were so kind, they even told me when I was having a bad day when I didn't even know it..lol   Ahhhh, youth!

I wish alligators were this charming and I was a good bowler.  I thought the alligator image would be right up my alley!  Alley Gator looks like he's having a really good time. I made the background paper simply by turning my bowling pin svg into a .jpeg, then just duplicating a lot of them and throwing them all over the paper.  You do whatca gotta do in a pinch!  Added diamond glaze on eyes and bowling bowl.

This particular set is called Little Monsters.  I also used a witch broom from Hazel's Wicked Witch Craft Collection, also from SVGCuts.

I have "sew" been enjoying making cards from Bugaboo Stamps "JJ Sewing"set.   All of the images in the set are absolutely adorable.  I did a similar card last month, but I wanted to improve upon it and was inspired by Tammy Miller's card creation.  Thanks Tammy!!!  Moving on....for some reason, Catch The Bug Thursday is my favorite day...can't explain...just enjoy...haha  Added ribbon and a MS button punch which also embosses.

Last of the peaches for the summer

My DH surprised me with these peaches last Thursday.....these are the last of the peaches for the summer.  Even these were a surprise since the season doesn't usually last this long, but Mother Nature treated us for one more week....the least she could do after the earth tremors and hurricane the week before.  I will enjoy every last one of them...yum yum!

My youngest son didn't get the meaning behind the sentiment and the relationship with the card.  However, not too many people take the time to recover furniture anymore.  When I explained it to him, he immediately started laughing. I laughed when I saw "his lightbulb"come on.....how cute!  This is an Art Impression stamp called Recovered.  I was sooooo inspired by Deloris's card....check it out! I LMAO!!!

Jodie, creator of Bugaboo Stamps, designed this special remembrance image for 9/11.  Thank you Jodie!  Please remember the lost lives and the people today protecting us!  The question is:  Where were you that day?  I was teaching at Greenville High School.  I was in Algebra class full of students.  My husband called me on my phone...something he wouldn't do knowing I'm in class, so I knew something was wrong and answered the phone.  It was within minutes that our principal called over the intercom and announced as calmly as he could what had happened. We turned on the TV and watched the horrific turn of events unfold.

I took liberties with the the song "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by the Supremes. The song uses the word "river" instead of "ocean", but my plan was to use it for an Operation Write Home challenge card.  With the soldiers being deployed overseas, the word "ocean" seemed more appropriate.

Anyhoooo, clean and simple and a cute play on words....I ended up satisfied with the card.

Sympathy card

You don't see many sympathy card challenges. It's hard to make a sympathy card.  Sentimental Sundays is having a "sympathy/thinking of you" challenge.  Just two days ago I made this card for my husband's business friend for the lost of his mother.  My DH picked out what he wanted me to use and I just pulled it together.  I thought it was nice that my husband helped with this particular card.  He's always supported my craft/card addiction but has never put his two cents in.

I used a Stampin Up stamp set, but can't remember it's name. It also comes with two sentiments but none that I used.  I sprayed water on the inked stamp and them applied the stamp to paper.  I use this set so much in the Spring and FAll.

ABC Monday

A friend had received some specialty tea that came in some darling boxes.  I took one of the pyramid boxes apart, traced, scanned and made a jpeg file.  I then took both the Tea Time - Spoon image and box image into my WORD file and place the Tea - Time character in the exact spot I wanted.  I printed out and cut all angles with my MS cutter, colored the image and place creases(scored) with my MS scoring board.  I will also put little gourmet tea bags in these and include them in a gift bag.   Check out other super images at Bugaboo Stamps.

Did not make a pdf file, sorry, but keep the portions and increase size to get on a piece of 8.5x11 cardstock.

"TWO POSTINGS TODAY"

Today's two "new releases" at Paper Pretties are Pablo and Diamondz...both of them come with two sentiments.  Again, I went off the grid and made my own sentiment.  Art was one of my college majors. No, I never had a masterpiece, but did win some prizes, ribbons and money.  Oh yeah....love the money!
