100th follower

Wow...never thought I would get any followers and this morning I got my 100th follower.  Just to celebrate for a few hours, I'm going to open up all my files till this evening.  But not to worry, I plan to open up again Labor Day and offer a Blog Candy.  Have a great day and thank you all for following.

Happy Harvest

I bought a wonderful set of svgs from Svgcuts.com called Heirloom Pumpkin Flourishes.  (I used several of the vines flourishes and one of the pumpkins.) Beebeebabs had a beautiful card with lattice where she was inspired by someone named Linda....that card inspired me too.  I had no information about the lattice on her card, but loved it, so I went to Inkscape and made my own.  Well, I put the two together and created the first card.  I then took the My Scrap Chick scarecrow file that was purchased for me as a gift by a very dear person, and made another card, but used the scarecrow instead of the pumpkin.  I plan to use it for the OWH Wednesday Throwdown but I will remove the sentiment per requirement.  (Please contact me for more info.)
(Used swirls embossing folder.)

(Used pumpkin and vines embossing folder.)

(Inside of card..old fence looking paper and more vines.)

Thank You Teacher

At Scrappily Ever After, our team leader challenged us to create a teacher  "Thank You" card.  It's never too early to thank some of those special teachers.  Someone from the svgcut.com forum posted the silhouette, but can't find who.  If you know, please let me know so I can give credit.  I stamped apples for background, the words are red foil and size: A2.  Instead of my apple svg, I decided on a SU stamp scrap.  Many apple svgs around, but here is my freebie apple svg.
UPDATE: The silhouette is from "Denise's Scraping Room"

Hope you are having a wonderful week!

"The Urge Will Pass" and svg freebie

My svg freebie has absolutely nothing to do with the card I made today.  I bought this digi stamp from The Digi Shack and had the most fun creating a card....clean and simple.  Copic markers, size A2, buttons for embellishments.

There are all kinds of fancy things for school, but nothing beats the good, old-fashion clipboard.  As a young girl, I remember putting shiny stickers (that came in packs of baseball cards) on mind.  Do you remember the "blue horse" notebooks and notebook paper?  Just a bit of nostalgia if you are over 50!  haha

Enjoy...School is just a week away here!

Shopping Boutique

I made this svg shape card from a cute card I received the other day from a friend.  All the accessories inside the shoppe are from Paula's Boutique Collection from Svgcuts.com. I used a border punch by Martha Stewart for the curtains. (Needed 5x7 envelop because of shoppe sign.) I used acetate for a window and pop-ups for extra dimension.

This svg will be available for 3 days!
Enjoy!  Have a great week!

"Heat is up!" and "Glo Worm"

Yup....the heat is still intense and students are getting physicals before school starts!

Download:  blood pressure cuff (svg)
Hope your blood pressure is okay!

I saw this adorable poem on someone's blog but can't remember "where".  I  got the free digi image but can't remember "who". I know someone named Colleen drew it.  If anyone knows more, please email me so I can give credit and a link to the site. I attempted to make the background dark like nighttime.

Some days are just the PITS !

My son just came home with his first "ticket". I was minding my own business, in my own happy place (craft room) making a sweet card and then the "blue paper" was lay down over my pretty designer paper for me to see. As a retired teacher, I always exhibited much patience and restrained with other people's children.  Well, the rule doesn't usually apply in my own home.  I had scissors in hand, but he had two friends as witnesses, so I counted to 10 and then said "my peace".  He would have to pay in many ways down the road, but the first payment was for me to hand him the phone so he could call his dad at work.  "But Mom, he's working, that will make him mad," as my son pleaded his case. "Yup", I said, "but I only have your best interest at heart.  If you remember the old slogan for selling telephones..."reach out and touch someone", then trust me. Dad would love to reach out through that phone and touch you!!!! Call him now while there is distance between you and him and he will be over the initial shock by the time he gets home this evening."  He made THE call!
Using my craft tape, the ticket now hangs neatly on the refrigerator door....perhaps I should add some embellishments.  It stands for blackmail, lots of extra chores he won't be paid for, leverage on many levels, and a prayer card. A prayer card you may ask? (I wouldn't tell him, but maybe my guardian angel (or his) stepped up to the plate to see that he got this ticket to save him from something worst that could had happened in the future....just a precaution..to help him refocus.)
I finished this card and svgs instead of the other sweet card that I had been working on. It's dedicated to his/mine/dad's bad day and reminding me "Some days are just the PITS!"

( I used Peachy Keen faces on the Pits.)

OWH Challenge #28 - Baseball Nut (2nd posting today)

Earlier today, I posted a SVG freebie and a Pollycraft "Fit for a Princess" challenge card.
Now I want to post the OWH Challenge #28 card and offer you a digi stamp I created several months back....so I'm offering again...after all... it's baseball season.  Other than shopping for the greatest deals EVER, this is my second favorite sport, but this one I just watch from the bandstands...hehe ( I used a baseball embellishment and copic markers. Size: A2)

Diva Princess Challenge and Back to School SVGS

I just love this digi stamp called "Diva" from Mo at Digital Pencil Too.  I've entered this little Diva Princess in the challenge #55 "Fit For a Princess" at Pollycraft.  She's a sassy little girl and she knows she's a princess. Bling in right top corner and bling earrings, but a sweet charm in the corner.  I used copic markers and the frame was from Nested Lacey Shapes set at Svgcuts.com. (Size Card: 5x5)

Continuing with "Back to School" svgs, it's time to examine what's important...so here's a microscope to do the examining!

As always, I enjoy comments like you enjoy free svgs.

Mojo Monday and SVG FREEBIE to celebrate" Back to School"

I have several things going on today.  The first, a Mojo Monday #150 challenge.  Below is the template we were asked to follow.  I've used this adorable donkey from Karen's Doodle before, but with a different sentiment.  There is glossy accent on the hat and liquid pearls on the flowers. (Size: A2)  This will also go out to OWH.

The second, Education and Back to School Week will be celebrated by our DT at Scrappily After After. There will be challenges, card ideas and freebies everyday from my blog.  The first is the "wise old owl". The anonymous "Tim with no name" is the artist of this public domain image. I just redesigned a little an made into an svg.

Meljen's Design's Template Challenge #18

This littlebee is almost identical to yesterday's bee card.  The Meljen's Design Challenge #18 was to follow the template below, but no color restrictions...these colors are different and I've added  embellishments, diamond glaze for dimension on the cans, along with more pop-ups behind different cuts.  I'm offering the rainbow svg as the freebie.  Off to Scrapbook Creations in Spartanburg, SC...taking my SUV....heard I will need it to haul all my goodies home...haha

I had several request to add outlines for hand-cutting. I will add the Christmas lights and rainbow outlines tomorrow. I did the outline, but when I print they come out wrong size...will work on this.

I enjoy comments, like you enjoy downloading! Enjoy!

Gee Hawing update "ON THE NEWS TODAY"

If you read the story about my little donkey card 2 days ago, here is the TV news story that was telecasted on the news today.... Gee Hawing Paid Off It doesn't mention her (my SIL) by name, but she is the one behind the design of the camouflage and uniforms being "Made in America".  I guess all the men "gee hawed" and the vision became a reality.

One more quick challenge #36 card to add on this evening for  Kaboodle Doodles.  We had to work with 4 specific colors within the card along with a digi stamp of our choosing and I definitely wanted to use one of Meljen's Designs.  I have one other sorta like this for tomorrow for another challenge with OWH, but had to follow a specific template, not color.  I will post that tomorrow and offer the free rainbow svg.

Don't forget to check out my Crabby Christmas and free lights svg below.

Friday Inspiration Photo Challenge

Yes, I know it's not Friday, but I needed to get the card on the OWH blog today.

I am using this card in my OWH Mid-Week Throwdown Challenge - Christmas in July.  Yup...some people celebrate on the coast and in tropical climates..so this just might be "the" card for that person to send home.

Melanie, at Scrappily Ever After, has given us this colorful lights photo to challenge and inspire us and others to create a card.  One must plan early if going to participate in OWH (Operation Write Home).   Being a lover of the SC coast, I chose this adorable crab to create my card.  The crab was a free svg from Svgcuts.  I created the lights and santa hat svgs....those will be my freebies for today.  I used the snowflakes embossing folder, puff paint for the hat ball, pop-up dots for dimension, inking and some gold wire.

Download:  Christmas bulbs and holders (svg)
( Will post Santa hat later today...sorry)

ENJOY!!! Stay COOL!!!

Grape Cluster (Scrap Challenge)

This is my scrap challenge for Scrappilyeverafter.  I've had this grape cluster rubber stamp for over 5 years.  I stamped some out on white cardstock but never knew what to do with them.  I bought a Martha Stewart punch last week (with a coupon of course), played around with some cardstock scraps and put them aside rather than throwing away.  A dedicated cardmaker NEVER throws scraps away...haha  Around that same time, I saw Dawn's ( My Stamping Thyme) blackberry cluster card on her blog and fell in love with her design. I didn't come close to the beauty of hers, but I am content with the outcome of mine.  It was her inspiration.  Thank you Dawn.  I don't have a sentiment for it yet...but when the time comes to send it to that special person, I will know.

Details: old grape cluster rubber stamp images, oval nestabilities (3 layers), dry embossing of squares on first layer, leaves embossing folder on 2nd layer, MS border punch, copic markers, and scrap ribbon.  (I would had rather use silk ribbon, but didn't want to buy since this was suppose to be made with scraps..this was the closest I could find to meet my needs). Size: 5x7
