Back To School

....well, not for me.  After 33 years teaching in the high school setting, I just substitute now and then for a little extra fun/mad money. Funny how I don't miss the paperwork, yet now that I'm retired, I surround myself with paper....ok...but it's PRETTY PAPER...haha

The image is from Lacy Sunshine called Chrissy Crystal Whisk Fairy .  I got it free for participating last month.  Their challenge theme this month at Lacy Sunshine is "Back to School".

I used my new Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banner Die Set and my new Lil Inker Stitched Flag.  It took me a long time to win the fairy charms on Ebay at the price I wanted to pay.  They seemed to be very popular.

(Humm...she is not that pink...bad lighting..sorry)

Sending a Flurry of Love....

.......ok....more like a blizzard to some of my friends!!!

First, I had so much fun this past week at Catch the Bug while helping celebrate their 1st birthday.  The hop was loaded with ideas, inspiration was abundant and SO many super prizes.  I was the lucky number drawn to place a one time order with a 75% off coupon....now how fantastic is that!!!

The latest Catch the Bug challenge is to show your "Winter Whites".  I used the adorable Winter Fairy. I used diamond glitter on her wings, boots and snowflakes, and heart but it doesn't show well in the picture.

A2 size, stitching, hint of copics and some embellishments
Other Challenges:
Craft you Days Away: Love
Reasonable Ribbon: Ribbon and heart
Hodgepodge: White on White

Christmas Fairy

I love this set of fairies from Pollycraft.   I scraplifted the colors from Pollycraft DT member Paula.  What a beautiful job she did!  Several challenges called for "purple, green and one other color".  I pulled out my trusty sledge hammer for the brads to hold the ribbon. I used copic markers (favorite coloring medium), glitter,  and embellishments of a snowflake and pearls on my easel card.

Challenges:
Pollycraft: purple, green and one other
Penny's Challenges: As long as it flies
Anything Goes Challenge: Ribbon
Crafty Ann's Challenge: 1 digi and favorite coloring medium

As promised...here is the honey stick from yesterday's card.

It's "hump day"...hope the rest of your week is safe and wonderful!

First Sign of Spring

We all have it...we all want it....the itch and strong desire for Spring. Yup, Mother Nature does tease us many times.  Here is my first daffodil for this year.  It looks a little worse for wear, but this little daffodil was determined to be the first one to bloom...I guess it had something to prove.

Here is a card I made for my super sister-in-law, Dawn!  I was thinking a little Spring at the time.  Open the windows and get that wonderful fresh air.  And, upon looking out the window, I see a fairy sunning!  How cool is that!  The cuts came from several places.  The fairy (Flitting Fairies) and potted plant ( My Happy Garden Hideaway) came from SVGCUTS.com  and the window came from  Images by Heather M.  And, inspiration by ScrappingButtterflyMom
