"Let's Eat" Carrier

"Oldies but Goodies"
at Bugaboo Stamps

What a fun day!!  Instead of a card, I went "outside the box", well, actually outside the "cake carrier".

A wonderful, generous person gave me some free vinyl.  I saw Tammy's cake carrier and knew I had to give it a try.  I used all scraps, including carrier and ribbon..haha  Since this was my first attempt, I didn't want to chance using something new....so it REALLY is an oldie day.

My image... Picnic Ant, at Bugaboo Stamps, of course...haha! ( I changed jpeg to svg). I can not share the svg. The original image is sole property of Jodie at Bugaboo Stamps.

Pop over to Oldie but Goodie Day at Bugaboo and check out what some of the other team members did....just more fun for you!

Back side using "picnic ant"

Front side, my initials using Curlz font
Perhaps I should had put "Carolina Girl"

All the flamingo images are so stinkin' cute.  I just couldn't wait to use one.  I even included the picnic ant.  Hey...they can be friends!  When do you not see an ant at a picnic!!!!

I kept the papers pretty plain since my actual coloring image is so busy.

5x5 easel card, copics, svg, stitching, embellishment

The svg is an oldie by me, but I will put it back up for downloading in case some of you missed it.

What a great choice!  I've been following Deloris for quite a while...is super in choosing the "just so perfect card" to go with her colors and layouts.  She's a guru of capturing the focal point of the image and leaving just a hint of embellishment for that extra little pop.  Check out the cards she has done and a few of my own.

This darling""Freebie Friday" Kitchen Chicken from Bugaboo Stamps couldn't have come at a better time.  Several friends wanted my easy chicken pot pie recipe so what a cute way to send it! Just untie the taffeta bow and it opens up or you could just pull up and out.  I like the option.

I took the liberty of turning the image into an svg for the front of the card and left it as a jpeg for the recipe card.

Give a man a fish and......

...he'll eat for a day...
Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a boat drinking beer all day!

Yup....I got the Bug....a Bugaboo Guest Designer position for July and August.  I'm so dang excited and a little nervous.  This is my very first Guest Designer position. YIKES!!! ( However, the DT members have been the best and sweetest to welcome me into their Bugaboo world.)

I was so excited when I saw the "New Release" Gus fishing.....another wonderful creation by Jodie at Bugaboo Stamps.  If you follow my blog to any degree, you know I'm a true lover of water, the beach and fishing.  My "2 happy places" are my craft room and on the water.

Check out all the  inspiration by the super DT members at Catch the Bug Blog.  It's a MUST!!!

Deets: My late FIL had a boat, motor, and hat these colors...so I used these in memory of him. Copics, wave svg (don't know where I got it), post by Heather M., MS anchor punch, metal fish, rod punch.

click on any of the pics and they will enlarge for a better view

Challenges:

Sweet Stampin: (something old/something new)  brand new image, brand new fish embellishment and  extremely old twine and very old blue paper....haha
Scrappy Frogs:  (use anything red)
Rainbow Ladies: (use a digi stamp)

With the help of my DH, I continue trying to work on my photography skills with his mammoth camera.  I get mixed reviews....some like the outdoor pics and others the plain indoor pics.  ( This one was really hard because of the 3D composition.)  My end goal is simply post something that I hope "you" will enjoy seeing.

2011-06-27

I think I'm coming down with a Bug...

Yup, stay tuned tomorrow and see what happens.  I definitely will be posting a card.  It's time for me to go fishing again.

....And I do believe I need another drink!

Which pic to you like best of the first set of Stellas?  I'm working on my photography. Please vote!

Jodie at Bugaboo Stamps has done it again.....such talent. Stella (the image) is the little bad girl in me that sometimes pops out...haha   The Wacky Wednesday #7 challenge at CDAC calls for no designer paper and 3 buttons.  The martini glass is courtesy of Andy at Digi Streets.  This young man is loaded with talent!  You MUST drop by his blog and store.  His animations and music to go along with his stamp and cut tutorials are absolutely awesome!!!

The next card is for the Catch the Bug challenge...red, white, blue and ribbon.  The DT at Bugaboo showed me you can use any image for any occasion. Fantastic inspiration from them! So, I tried my hand at the same image but with didn't rules.  Hummm...liking the idea!

Happy 4th of July a little early

Yesterday's card was inspired by Min at Bugaboo and now this one....ok...I almost scraplifted this one but I wrote and told her...haha  Jodie, owner and designer of Bugaboo Stamps always captures me with her awesome drawings.  The image is Turtles - July USA.  I planned to post for Wacky Wednesday Challenge at CDAC (not designer paper and 3 buttons) and now I see it will also qualify for the Catch the Bug challenge (red, white and blue and ribbon)....lucky me.

No freebie today, but I will have one tomorrow.

Below is a picture I took of my son Mitchell and his friend David.  They were tossing a mud minnow trap into the low tide inlet at Pawley's Island.  I was proud of myself for catching the minnow trap in mid-air with my little Sony camera...haha  This was while we were on our college tours last week.  98 degrees at the time and HUMID!!!

Call in the Firemen!!! (+ freebie)

(inside says) "... it's a hot hot birthday!!!! ( Happy Birthday Ray!)

...and walking the college campuses was hot hot hot!  The college tours were very enlightening minus the heat.  Three more colleges/universities to visit.  Ahh, the visits brought pack fun memories of my youth.

Anyhooo, I wanted to get back to my craft room and do a card for the Catch the Bug Challenge (It's a Man's World). I used the fireman 6 and 2 from Bugaboo Stamps for my brother's birthday card.  Inspiration for card was Min, a DT member at Bugaboo. The card will be a tad late, but he's headed to Switzerland so my card will be the last thing on his mind....haha

I can't believe it....I didn't have a fire hydrant.  You know me...I made one and now I will share....haha

I will also head over to CDAC for Wacky Wednesday Challenge (no designer paper and 3 buttons).  If you haven't already, you really need to head over to Bugaboo Facebook page and "LIKE".  It's loads of fun, inspiration and yup, even freebies.

Father's Day Shirt and Tie Fold Card

When I saw this on a fellow bloggers blog, I knew I had to do one.  I wound up doing several.  There are NO cuts.  I added buttons, a pocket and tie pin to jazz it up a little. You can follow the easy peasy tutorial at Dawn's Stamping Thoughts.  ( Hope my auto pilot worked because I'm on my way to the beach...haha)

I had a really fun time making these...

Oops...bad lighting on this one....was in a hurry!

Got my mind on beach, sun, surf and fish (freebie svg)

Yal probably don't think I ever stay home.  Well, you're right...lately I've been on the road to water somewhere...haha    I leave very early tomorrow morning to visit perspective colleges for my son and his friend.  We will be visiting universities near the coast and stay at the beach between visits...might as well enjoy the beach while we can!  I'm taking a friend for company, plus she is a high school counselor that will add a little flavor to the tours.  My husband is staying back home working to keep me in the lifestyle I'm accustom...haha  (He's really a dear, but worse is that we won't be home for Father's Day.  We will return Tuesday afternoon.)  We plan to do a little fishing, swimming, kayaking, watching the sunset with a glass of wine in our hand (just us two ladies) along with the educational activities.  I'll be taking my Ipad and laptop for communication with you guys.  I hate missing all the fantastic crafts on your blogs.

Download :  Fish   (svgs)
Svgs will be available for 5 days...enjoy!

PS...I'm working on another secret project that I also can't share...that's why between the wedding, beach, lake and trip tomorrow you haven't seen any cards lately.

I'm headed to the lake today for some sun, girlfriend chats, kayaking and relaxing on the water.  I may even stay till Sunday....yippee! Look....even Odie is happy for me!

Only 5 pieces.   I recommend this size or larger
