Grow old along with me.....

......the best is yet to be.

Another card to set out at the rehearsal party.  This is an old quote and I forgot who said it.  Next time I would like to do in pinks and browns. "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue."  Well, these are older people and I thought this card  complimented yesterday's card with the children.  Well, I'm doing the rehearsal party so I can do what I want...right?  haha  Off and running this morning.  Get to meet some new future in-laws today, bridal luncheon, hair done, rehearsal party tonight and a big glass of wine!

Getting married means.......

....sharing your toys.

My son is getting married this weekend.  I wanted a few cards to set around at the rehearsal party tomorrow night.  Here is one.  It's a Mo Manning image.  Folks...I'm bow-legged tired and there's more to do tomorrow.

Bundle of Joy

Cheryl is celebrating the news of becoming a first time grandma....wonderful news!  To celebrate, she is offering some great blog candy.  Below is the set from Svgcuts she will be giving away.  Just drop by her blog "Dragonfly Designs",  leave some love and some cues to be the best grandma ever.

Boiled Peanuts

Countdown to wedding! Rehearsal is very low-key BBQ.  One appetizer is boiled peanuts for the Southern folk.  I am in huge hurry so no time for great picture set up.  I did this svg pot a long time ago, but I have redesigned it a little so I'm offering this version.

Silver cardstock, 4x6, embossing folder, Peachy Keen faces, inking

Svg will be available for 5 days....ENJOY!

We miss you...... but having a ball. (+ freebie svg)

OMG.....When I saw this Art Impression (Girlfriends Work Out) stamp I HAD to have it....just perfect for the sentiment.  I have a group of girlfriends and invariably one of the girls can't "join in", so we always tease the girl that can't join in by using this little saying.   (PS - I had a ball coloring it!)

Copic markers, stitching, 1" circle punch, 1.12" cut on Cricut Expression

I planned to use the simple little dumbbells svg on the card, but at the last minute decided just to go with the balls.  No reason why I can't go ahead and share with you.  Enjoy!

Svg will be available for 5 days.

"Stock the Bar" shower

Yup, that was the theme for this card.  The party was held Saturday night.  A good time was had by all!  The stamp is from Art Impressions called Girlfriends in Hot Tub.  I love their carefree attitude in the hot tub. Looks like the ladies were having a grand old time!  I used copic markers, stitching, raffia, and an old wine glass punch.  I made it into as easel card.

apron svg

This is by no means a great apron.  I didn't have the style I wanted so I quickly had to make an svg to fit my need for the "Recipe for Happiness" card.  I used some funky little scissors to make the bottom a little feminine.  I just cut two thin strips for the ties but had originally plan to use ribbon, but at the last minute the ribbon didn't look right. It you are looking for a cute apron, check out Svgcuts at the Panda Picnic Party set.  I can't believe I have not bought that one yet, but I will in the next week...haha

Recipe for Happiness

My card for the kitchen/recipe shower for my future DIL that is this afternoon.  The shower I accidentally showed up for a "day early".  I'll just call that a "dry run".  Ok...and I felt a little stupid too.

I may be "pushing the envelop" with requirements for a Catch the Bug challenge, but I'm GOING FOR IT!  haha  The challenge calls for polka dots and stripes.  I used swiss dot embossing folder and the stripes are my whisk all in a row....looks likes stripes to me!  The image is JJCook from Bugaboo Stamps.  My darling svgs are from Svgcuts ... the mitten, wooden spoon and measuring spoons (Afternoon at Auntie Elaine's and Christmas Cookie party sets).  I did the bottle freehand and made the svg apron. ( I used silver mirror paper for measuring spoons but hard to see in photo.)

5x5, Little Yellow bicycle (Savor) paper, stitching, copic markers

It was a Hell of a Hail

.....some measured more than 2 inches in diameter not counting the spikes many had on them. True, some are larger, but this is the largest I have ever experienced up close and personal.  We covered my husband's car with a blanket as best we could.  We only have a two car garage and my son and I had already taken the space inside the garage.  Anyhow, my DH's car still received hail damage.  We stood in the garage watching in amazement only for one of the big buggers to fly in the garage and hit me in the thigh leaving a whelp and bruise.

I admit.....I'm a Liar!

.....I can't help myself!  I know I told everyone I wouldn't be making cards or doing challenges the month of May!!!   I am soooo missing making a card and seeing all yals' creations. Anyhow, we got infiltrated by ants in our kitchen.  I had to bring in hired killers for a $125 wack job.  I was suppose to stay out of the kitchen so what's a girl to do? I headed to my craft room.  I have several cards to make for wedding showers this weekend and some place cards for the rehearsal party, but my hands went into another direction and before I knew what was happening I was making a card for Wacky Wednesday #1 Bugaboo challenge at CDAC. (Criteria was use turquoise, red and yellow and a Bugaboo image.) You can find this darlin' matey HERE.

5x5, copic markers, MS punch, buttons, stitching, glitter, citrus paper

Sending You My Biggest Smile Ever!

Dustin Pike has given many freebies to all of us fellow card makers.  He's now asking for a small favor in return.  There is a special young man by the name of Dylan, 9 years old, that would love to have a card during this time.  Read more about Dylan on Dustin Pike's blog.  Dustin is also offering to send anyone several special freebies if cards are sent.  I would do this without the free incentive. I don't have any special talent, but making cards makes me happy and sending cards to others ...well...it makes me even happier.  I know that I have taken a leave of absence from card making during the month of May, but it was important to stop and make a cute simple card for Dylan.  I used one of Dustin's old freebies and used an svg rather than coloring.

I'm being spread like jam....

Yup .... teaching, preparing for my son's wedding and another friend's daughter's wedding.  Not enough time in the day and getting anxious.  Therefore, other than trying to post a few Bugaboo cards for a few challenges, I will not be posting the month of May.  I hope you visit when I return June 1st and don't forget about me during the busy month of May.

Happy May Everyone!!!

Sending some happy wags your way (and strawberries)

Bugaboo Stamps is sponsoring the Card Cupid challenge.....such a wonderful cause.  The image is a Bugaboo Stamp called  Puppy Love Envelop.  I made a boy AND a girl version.  I'll be sending these cards to Card Cupic.org.  I got my inspiration and scraplifting idea from a DT member at Bugaboo, but I can't find her blog nor remember her name.

I used my reliable sledge hammer to seal the brads.

Both are A2 size.  I used copics, stitching, brads, pearls, my svg, punch

Strawberries.....Been a little down and my DH brought me this huge bucket of fresh picked strawberries as a surprise.  I fixed him a nice lunch.

I will be teaching tomorrow, so I will not have time to post an svg.

What does rain + boy + dog = ? (+ freebie)

...FABULOUS MUD PUDDLES!!!!!

This is my 2nd entry challenge for Bugaboo "Catch the Bug" challenge with "rain" as the theme.  Boy o boy...nothing better than to make mud puddles and mud pies after a good rain! I used Nana's Kids by DCWV, copic markers, button, stitching and brads.   The image is called BB Sean Dog from Bugaboo Stamps.

A2, vertical opening

Square scallop eyelet (svg)
I wish I could buy all the nestabilities, but that's not going to happen.  So, I made my own in Inkscape to the size I would use most often...3.45 (with the center square approx. 2.5") You could shrink or enlarge a little without trouble. I made 3 different layers for you.  You can use just one, two or all....haha

It will be available for 5 days....thank you to all who have been so kind and generous in leaving nice comments!

April Showers.......

....bring May flowers!    Bugaboo's "Catch the Bug" challenge theme is "rain".  I just ran outside to my backyard and snapped  pictures of flowers that inspired me for this card.  I used FB sunflower, but I changed him to a clematis flower....haha   (I plan to do another similar to this so you will be seeing a few more pics of flowers in my yard...I LOVE Spring flowers and birds singing!)

teardrops, Peachy Keen face, button, stitching, ribbon, copic makers, cloud/sun die cut

A2 size....another view

clematis....like my Flower Bear...haha

Home Again....giggity gig gig!

Home again...just in time for Easter with the rest of the family.  Just a few pictures of the Battery, my son and my friends' house.  I picked up a few card supplies and ready to start making some cards for the wedding showers I will be attending for my son and fiance.
The Battery....spent a lot of time here during college listening to bands on the lawn area and it was free entertainment....what fun!

You can see the gazebo in center where the band's played and we would sit on grass listening and watching the ships and sailboats go by.....free entertainment for a college kid....great memories!

Judson house (front yard)...pretty Spanish moss

Mitchell at Battery with Ft. Sumter in background (it was getting dark) Perhaps he will choose a college in Charleston for 2012 after his mom, dad and brother's footsteps....it's ok if he doesn't.

Still on Spring Break!

I'm still on Spring Break with my youngest son.  We are at the beach and having a wonderful time with our 2nd family, the Judson's.  Laying by the pool, walking the beach with the temps in the 80's and having a wonderful ocean breeze is my my kinda day right now.  Did I mention the chance to drink a mojito, munch on goodies while soaking of the sites, sounds and smells of the ocean?  Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! We also managed to get in a day of fishing....didn't catch anything but had a great time trying!  Today....another day of the same thing...yippee!!!

Lacy Circle svg freebie

I made this open scallop circle the same time I made the oval open scallop svg in Inkscape.  I didn't have anything else at my disposal so I made them for cards I was doing.  I haven't finished my card using the lacy open scallop circle but thought I would go ahead and offer it.  I've been spending my mornings at the gym and administering ACTs in the afternoon and I'm headed to the beach on Friday. I'm bow-legged tired!!! Sooooo, I'm running out of hours in the day...unless I was Celeste at Touched by a Butterfly and could find 36 hours in a day to make wonderful creations like she does.  Maybe the woman doesn't sleep....haha

Please consider leaving a little positive comment if you choose to download...only takes you a second, but the comments last me a lot longer!!!
