Welcome

Made a few cards for my friend who is a realtor to give to clients moving into their new home.  I also have done several with cars, luggage, keys, etc., but this was a quick, last minute card to grab.

You color my world

I continue to case cards that I think are CAS. I'm into "cute" these days.  I used  You Color My World stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

I cut out extra blue and green crayons to make the card 3-dimensional.  I added Wink of Stella, pop-ups and copics for shadow.

Local home news...finally got DH into my ENT to get his hearing check.  Yup, he could use some hearing aides....oh...happy days are here again!  I "personally" went with him to hear from the "doctor's mouth"; my DH's interpretation was different. I'll say "there was a failure to communicate" and leave it at that....haha

Time spent in Charleston last weekend

Other than getting 6.5" of rain in one day from Tropical Store Eric, we had a great time visiting our friends, eating seafood, sunning at the beach, and playing tourists.

Of course, I continue sending my brother and wife pics where ever we go.  I'm going to make a new sign board that I can flip and show different names.  My other family members and friends are getting a little jealous...haha

Getting a little wet standing in fountain at Waterfront Park in Charleston.  Don (DH) on left and Harry (good friend) on right.

A2 size, mirror DP for eye glass section

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.  I can't remember where I got the sunglasses svgs.  I used Lil Inker circle stitched dies and dots along with stitching.  I did these a while back and just now posting.  Tried doing some male and female versions.

Sending....

...love and hugs

"Sending" is another new die from Simon Says Stamp.  I pretty much cased a Simon Says Stamp card by a DT member but no name was given.  Don't have my mojo back so casing some cards really helps.  Love this adorable stamp from Inky Antics.

These came together quickly, so I made several for my emergency stash.

Product and homemade enamel dots

I had a request on how I made the enamel dots.  I watched several You Tube videos and decided which would be the best for me.  I didn't have parchment paper so I used a clear glass 9x12 pyrex glass baking dish.  (I'm sure a colored, opaque dish would be fine also.)  The opaque pony beads melted better and smoother than the clear ones.  The clear ones just took a few minutes longer.  Don't melt the two different kinds in the same dish together due to time difference.

Instructions for oven: Perler beads 275 (°F) 135 (°C) 30-35 mins. Pony beads: 425 (°F) 218 (°C) 8-10 mins. Keep an eye on them. When melting the Pony beads, turn on oven fan & open windows.  Click HERE for a video that I liked.
I have white paper under my clear pyrex dish so you can see the beads better.

The MISTI
Here is my new stamp gadget that I love love love and it has saved so many stamp sentiments not being messed up.  Yes, a splurge in price but I haven't regretted it one bit.  Gosh, this thing is awesome.  I had the "thing a ma jig" that everyone else has to help place the sentiment, but this is so much easier, quicker and literally fail proof.  If I'm doing a bunch of the same card it is definitely worth it for the time.  Click HERE for a video.

Off to the movies....

.... just a silly card to send my brother.  My son and I took Steve several times to the movies while visiting him in Denver, Colorado.  It's one thing he enjoys and getting out of the house.  I learned how to manipulate the handicapped conversion van so we were ready to "rock and roll" and have some outside fun time.

The grass is the only die.  I dared not try to incorporate the Colorado Rocky Mountains in the background.  The doggie is named Mimi.

A2, Lia didn't have a good hair day and wouldn't send me a pic to include her so this is how I got around her not being in the pic...haha  Mimi, Steve, Mitchell coming out of sunroof and me in front seat.

You're my favorite...

....ok...everyone is my favorite at the moment, at least my siblings won't be offended...they're cool!

Just got this "sweet" gumball die from Simon Says Stamp.  Put some homemade enamel dots in it along with some sequins.

Just a quick, happy, fun card to send my brother.

A2 size, don't know what that crazy reflection is..oops

also used acetate sheet and thick mounting tape

Wishing....

...my DIL a Happy Birthday!  A quick card using a new die "wishing" from Simon Says Stamp.

Other news:  I'm stepping down from the Doodle Pantry design team.  I have had an awesome time with a wonderful team and creating for an awesome artist, Laurie.  I will be spending extra time with family members over the next 9 months.

Now in my craft room and creating when time and the mood strikes.  I will enjoy getting back into visiting blogs....so much inspiration and cyber friendships to enjoy.

A cherished trip.....

My trip to Denver (along with my youngest son), was heart wrenching,  heartfelt, and beautiful all at the same time.  My brother has a rapid demise of ALS.  He has a great, loving, supportive wife, a super sense of humor and keeping a positive attitude of what life has thrown him.  My son and I learned how to care for him and we shared some wonderful moments.

Someone, I think Evelyn or Brenda  (cyber-friends) told me things I could do for him to entertain him.  I bought him a digital photo frame and put pictures on it from our childhood till present.  I took pictures of his favorite places he liked to visit growing up here in South Carolina. ( I put a caption for each pic so people wouldn't have to ask him since his speaking is now quite limited to a whisper.  He was overwhelmed with happiness.  I have encouraged his friends to send pictures to his wife so she can add pictures of other great life moments.

I fed him some of his favorite things from home that he couldn't get in Denver.  Yup, I dragged fresh peaches and my garden tomatoes through the airports just for him...also a 3 lb. bag of white grits and yellow grits. ( There were a few peach casualties). I made him peach cobbler, yummy tomato sandwiches (with Duke's mayo and white bread).  He ate grits and eggs every morning and top it off with fresh sliced peaches.

My son had "those special moments" with his uncle that he will never forget and will always cherish.  Mitchell was so much help and Steve appreciated "man time" with a fellow lover of sports and just being with his nephew.  Steve said Mitchell did better massages than me..haha  Mitchell's already trying to plan when he can go for another visit, but airplane flights and rental cars are expensive and he is entering a very hard senior year at college with a special major in chemistry.  We will work hard to make the trip happen.  Time is not on our side so we will make the trip during his upcoming winter college break.

Circle Sea and Shell Shaker Card

....try saying that 5 times quickly...haha

I've been playing with my new tool, the We R Memories Photo Sleeve Fuse.  My seal-a-meal machine worked fine, but for intricate shapes and curves, it wouldn't work.  This is very easy to work with and I have plenty of old photo sleeve pages..so yippee!

I used Seahorse Habitat set from Doodle Pantry.  I cut out the seahorse using my Silhouette Cameo.  I used all types of sequins.  Next time I want to use real sand.

You brighten my life

Gosh....I made 4 of these cuties, but I need more for so many friends and cyber friends.

I cased Wings of a Butterfly-Vanessa using Lawn Fawn Jelly Star Clear Stamp Set. (Still trying to get mojo back so casing really helps.) The sentiment is from Life's a Beach by Lawn Fawn. A little distressed ink, dots of water, pop-ups for dimension and I'm ready to send them out. Oh...white highlight pen and Wink of Stella.

Float Yer Goat tab slider card

This image always makes me giggle.  I used Float Yer Goat file by Doodle Pantry.  I'm just now doing my 1st slider card while everyone else has been doing them for years.

I'm flying (with my youngest son) to Denver on July 23rd.  My wonderful oldest brother, who has been healthy as an ox/horse, developed a rapid ALS. I'm going to visit, just sit with him, feed him anything he can/wants to eat.  He loves my grits and homemade peach cobbler.  I'll squish it up and see if he can eat it.  Anyway, anyone have any ideas that are cheap to get from the airport to my hotel in Denver?  The airport rental cars are $620 for the 6 days I'm there.  I'm hoping the hotel can pick me up...we'll see.  But I'm open for suggestions!!!

Charlie Horse Sparkle Shaker Card

My first purchase on-line was Charlie Horse by Laurie at Doodle Pantry (at the time she was with Clear Dollar Stamps).  Here is Charlie Bee all sparkled up!

I'm using a fuzing technique.  I ordered the We R Memories Photo Sleeve Fuze. While waiting, I used my seal-a-meal machine. I was able to make a thin shaker card completely sealed.  I used a clear envelop, put in my glitter and then sealed.  For sure nothing will fall out.

Don't forget our Ants in My Pantry Digital Challenge #7 at Doodle Pantry.  Get chance for a GC and even more surprises/chances if you use a Doodle Pantry image (not text).

Graduation card for Rachel

Where have I been and what has been going on?  I don't want to bore you.  All the events these past 4 weeks have been overwhelming.  I'm back until July 23-29.  I have visited many blogs, but have not commented but trust me that all the blogs I visited put many many many smiles on my face during the day and the past weeks which was much needed.  So thank you thank you thank you very much for sharing your talents and blogging...awesome inspiration and HAPPY!

This is a much belated graduation card for a young lady that graduated in May and now  college bound soon.  The card was made from an old Stampendous flower clear stamp. I also used Stampin Up blue and yellow ink.  I cut the star using my Silhouette.

Seahorse Habitat

I hope I'm at the beach when this is posted.  Seahorse Habitat set is a Doodle Pantry June release. Our Ants in the Pantry Challenge #6 continues...join us!

CAS.  I added an extra layer on the gold seahorse and scallop for added dimension. I'm entering my card in the Die Cutting Diva's Challenge #219 - National Aquarium Month.

Seahorse Habitat Shaker Card

Ahhhhh....I could smell, see and hear the sounds of the coastal waters as I was making this fun card.

Less is best sometimes.  I didn't want to subtract from the beautiful pre-colored scene.  It came together so quickly and easily, but I hope it look like it took me a long time to the person I send it to...haha

It's June 5 and Doodle Pantry is having some lovely and fun new releases.  I chose one of the images from Seahorse Habitat.  Ants in the Pantry Challenge #6 is still in progress.  Come join the fun and for a chance to win a $GC to the store.

just chicken in....

Peaches are FINALLY in!  Nothing like leaning over the sink eating a peach while the juice runs down the arm.  Humm...I say that about fresh, summer, tomato sandwiches, boiled peanuts, and watermelon.....is this a Southern thing!  lol

I'm into dies a lot this week.  The Mother Hen Eggie is from Kadoodle, the chicken wire die is from MFT, and the idea/casing from Steph. I massed produced 5 of these..lol  The hardest part was figuring out how to get it too look like it was popping out of the fence.  I should have had a little dry corn for the photo instead of the flower...haha

Quilt card

Ahh yes, I'm back to walking and exercising again....actually feels good.  I'm starting a little late in the mornings due to playing in my craft room, but discovered a way of staying cool while walking .....running through the sprinklers of neighbors yards...haha  The neighbors don't mind....wish I had thought of this earlier...lol

I bought this Die-namics My Favorite Things quilt die (bought much cheaper) after seeing Cammy's cards.  This is my first attempt. Pretty self explanatory.  The "Just a Note" is a little hard to see, but in person, it's quite easy.  When you cut, it will automatically make 2 cards.  Great for quick cards!

by the sea.....card in a box

Yup, I yearn for the coast!  I plan on a trip by the end of this week.  Hubby will stay home and tend the house and puppies.  The first of June is "girls beach time"...a tradition I will continue to follow even with my husband retiring.  He'll probably enjoy the peace and quiet of me being away...haha

June 1 at Doodle Pantry means a new Ants in the Pantry Challenge..#6.  There will be some new releases on June 5 so "stay tuned". Enter the challenge for a chance to win a $GC and more if you use a Doodle Pantry image (not just a sentiment).

You're So Sweet

Ahhh...the days of my youth remembering sticky popsicle juice running down my arms as I tried to lick it off.  I think cherry and grape were my two favorite flavors.  Of course, I always saved the popsicle sticks to have a mini sword fight with my brother.

These are more like "brown cow" popsicles...vanilla ice cream in the center and chocolate on the outside.  There were not any colors like in my pictures, but boy oh boy, that would had been fun!  I got my idea from Cammy at Pink Room Therapy.  I didn't have the stamp or die, so I made my own cutting file in Silhouette and used Peachy Keen faces....works for ME! LOL

A2, twine, Lawn Fawn alphabet stamps for sentiment

Happy Birthday card

I have several cards to post but must retake photos after losing them on my computer.  However, this is a card for a friend's birthday. I incorporated the deets for the From the Heart Stamps weekly Challenge #110 before deadline.  Sketch or twist. (I did twist)

I'm glad I'm up and running again, but it feels like a daunting tasks in trying to make up challenges and commenting on so many fab blogs, so I do apologize.  I just need to relax, do what feels right and makes me happy.  Summer is also almost upon us and I have many vacation plans like many of you....haha

A2, made "happy" in Silhouette, doubled thickness, copics, Paper Smooches stitched lines die

My Hard Drive died....

My IMAC Hard drive died.  I replaced it with the help of my husband, but then we notice a ribbon damaged inside.  No, not a craft ribbon...haha, but a connector ribbon to the display.  I had to order since I couldn't find one in town.  Luckily, I had a back up disk (external hard drive).  You know our craft world is own our computer!  Well,  I can't get it to restore correctly yet.  I have the faith.  Today feels like the lucky day.

Anyhow,  I'm trying to visit blogs on my IPad but not much creating without my computer.

Yup,  this exactly what I'm having to do.  I'm glad I have a little "geek" in me!

This one is for Nana Connie

Hope you are staying cool

I can't eat ice cream, but that doesn't mean I can't drool over it.  I do sneak frozen yogurt at times. I saw a MFT video using these stamps.  I enlarged using my Cameo and then used the print/cut feature.  I like caramel more than chocolate on my yogurt.  I added Diamond glaze on caramel topping and cherry.

A2, stitched around the edges in white, pop-ups for dimension, homemade clear blue enamel dots and made own sentiment using Pages on Mac
