You don't see many sympathy card challenges. It's hard to make a sympathy card.
Sentimental Sundays is having a "sympathy/thinking of you" challenge. Just two days ago I made this card for my husband's business friend for the lost of his mother. My DH picked out what he wanted me to use and I just pulled it together. I thought it was nice that my husband helped with this particular card. He's always supported my craft/card addiction but has never put his two cents in.
I used a Stampin Up stamp set, but can't remember it's name. It also comes with two sentiments but none that I used. I sprayed water on the inked stamp and them applied the stamp to paper. I use this set so much in the Spring and FAll.

Gorgeous watercoloring, Cely! I used to have that set, too. Love what you did with it!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love everything about this card - color choices, distressing, accessories - GREAT!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I think sympathy cards are so hard to make and you did a great job.

Beautifully done and so nice that isn't dark colors that are traditionally used. My hubby is supportive and actually I call him from time to time to give me his opinion when I'm stuck on a decision. It's nice to have support.
ReplyDeleteThat's really a lovely sympathy card, Cely. Kudos to your Hubby also.
ReplyDeleteThis is perfect for a sympathy card, which I agree are difficult to make! Your husband has good taste, it came together nicely. Thank You so much for joining us at Sentimental Sundays this week!
ReplyDeleteI agree, they are hard to make (sympathy cards), but you did such a fab job! I did almost exactly this very card just the other day! (with the same SU stamp too!)....yours is very pretty Cely - I love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, I love the softness of the flowers.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining the fun at Sentimental Sundays this week!

I really love the gentle pastels of this card. Great technique with the sprayed water. I haven't done that in so long. Must remember to use it again soon.
