Easter Egg Shaped Card

This Fancy Easter Egg cut file was a freebie at Miss Kate's Cuttables yesterday.  It came with 4 different designs.  I can't believe this was free.  It was so easy to create.  I left off the last layer and decided to add DP on the bow.

A2 sixe, pop-ups on bow for dimension, wink of stella on butterflies and flowers

If you look carefully you can see the matching green stand for the egg to stand straight

Basking in chair (2nd post today)

Inside:...but in my head I'm quite busy!

I said you would see this fun background sunburst again.  When you cut it out, it automatically makes two.  I'm using QKR Stampede digi24231-Basking in chair.  I think he's too funny.  I'm entering this in the QKR Challenge #132 - use sentiment.

My DH doesn't look like a chicken/rooster, but the position in the chair reminds me of my husband and he has pretty much said this sentiment when I ask him why he's not "busy doing something".  When he asks me "why I'm so quiet", I tell him "I'm thinking". He says, "Oh boy, that's scary because it only means you are thinking of something that's going to put me to work!" (He's usually right...haha)

Have a deLIGHTful birthday

Still trying to build my stash of birthday cards.  I made several masculine and some feminine.  I cased Jeanie at My Spotted Chick.  I used the set call Perfect Chemistry from Your Next Stamps.  The sun ray is from the Silhouette Store.

A2, copics, ribbon, pop-ups for dimension, glossy accents and Wink of Stella on silver bulb base

Happy Birthday Christian

He will be "all of 32" and says he's getting old!   Ah, youth, I remember those days and thinking that...haha

Inside says:  You're definitely still HOT! (with a little flame)

I used Dancing Candles from My Scrap Chick.  EVERYTHING is a $1, but the sale is over tonight.   Two cyber card friends made a card using this cut file, but for the life of me I can't remember who they are...senior moment.  The only thing I added was a little shadow/rug under the candles to ground them.  These candles always make me smile!

A2, Wink of Stella on flames, some pop-ups for dimension, stitching

Another birthday card

I never have enough birthday cards and I definitely don't ever have enough masculine birthday cards.  I hope I can solve this problem.

FTHS Birthday Candle Birdbrain is what I chose to use for the FTHS Sketch Challenge #102 with a Twist.  I chose only to follow the sketch this time around. (From the Heart Stamps)

Guess who misses you!

I've been sick and not knowing what I had, I didn't want to take the chance of giving it to my 16 month old grand daughter. Next, I caught a cold which I'm almost over, but it has caused me not to be able to see the grand baby for weeks!  She won't understand the message (her mom and dad will) but she will love the bunnies peeking through the little frames.

I'm using a part of Easter Trio (March Stamp of the Month) for From the Heart March Challenge.  I received the set free for participating in February's challenge.  I had 4 images I was going to use and one disappeared before my eyes...no lie!!!

Spring Vacation

Easter vacation to the grandparent's house or to the beach....those were our two options growing up.  I'm not sure how I will use this card.  I have some friends moving this early Spring into their new house.  We also have friends that we are going to visit over Easter break.  Either way, I think this card says "SPRING".

Catch the Bug is having a BINGO challenge.  I chose the diagonal: Spring, Player's Choice, and Die Cut....Spring flowers, my die stitched border, die cut grass, road, hills, flowers, and image.  The image is from Bugaboo called AKV - Moving. ( I printed and cut several of these "smiles" a few weeks back. Glad I found other ways to use them.)

Bunny Belly Box - Spring (2nd post today)

So many challenges....so little time...so I have to double post some days!

Cut It Up Challenge #67 is under way.  Theme:  Spring: Anything BUT A CARD!  I bought Bunny Belly Box #75114 (Lori Whitlock) at the Silhouette Store on sale for $.50...couldn't be more pleased and it came together so fast. I think a bunny says Spring...don't you think!

The hair bow is purple.  Purple and white are my hardest colors to photograph.  Do you have a color that is hard to photograph?

google eyes instead of black circles, pop-ups for nose and feet, grey distressing on edge of bunny

decided to add a smile, but drew it in pink "after" I took picture...oops
Other Challenges:

Decorate to Celebrate Challenge #96 Anything Goes
DL.ART Thankful Thursday Challenge #152 Anything Goes
Digitally Sweet Challenge #132:  Anything BUT A CARD

I'm all ears!

Rainy day yesterday, so a great day to make some cards.  I got on a roll with a simple background technique I saw on my friend Donna's blog post.  What a fun change.   When you cut, you automatically have the materials for 2 cards.  So you will see several over the next few weeks.

I was a winner at QKR Stampede challenge this past week.  Yippee!  QKR's Challenge #131 this week is Think Spring.  I think a bunny with flowers on her hat and in the background paper says "Spring". I used #11407 Hello Bunny digi.

A2, copics for coloring, PSE for dress, Wink of Stella on flowers, sentiment in Pages, pop-ups under circle for dimension

angle view to show dimension, circle punch and Studio to cut shadow circle

PS  Do any of yal remember "Minnie Pearl" who was on the Grand Ole Opry"?  She always wore a hat and always left the tag on (to be seen on purpose).  The reason behind that?  She said she grew up very poor and to buy something NEW was a very rare treat. She felt having something new was a sign of having money.  This was especially true during the "Depression of the 30's".  Anyhow, by leaving the tag on her hat, she was stating that she was wealthy because she just bought a new hat....haha

Doodle Pantry Triple Layered card

I did a triple layered card years ago when all I had were rubber stamps.  This is my first attempt using digi images.  I kept it CAS since it was my first try.  It was really quite easy...but not at first....not knowing how to approach it.  I'm sure for many card crafters, they immediately jumped on the wagon and cut away, but NOT ME!  Some things come easy, pop into my head and "away I go".  Other times I spend an hour scratching my head before the lightbulb comes on.  I guess as long as the lightbulb finally comes on, I don't need to start worrying...lol

These are all Doodle Pantry images except for the butterfly die and tag punch.  I cut the images out using my Silhouette Cameo Sets  listed below.  Come join our fun Ants in The Pantry Challenge 3: Anything Goes

A2, pearls on butterfly die from Impression Obsession, pop-ups for dimension, string for bow

Grasshoppers in the South

I forgot to mention why I did a card with a grasshopper.

Growing up in the South with grasshoppers was quite "interesting and scary, yet fun".  The South, back then, grew them "HUGE' or maybe we were just children and they looked HUGE to us.  These special, brown, huge, grasshoppers are/were found in the lower part of the state, near the coastal area and had a unique talent.

First, I must tell you what was grown in the coastal area:  cotton and lots and lots of tobacco.  Ok....back to the story!  These grasshoppers loved chewing on the tobacco leaves.  Well...what does an old country boy do when chewing tobacco? Yup, spit.  These grasshoppers would spit tobacco.  I mean they could REALLY SPIT!!! As kids, we would round up lots of grasshoppers, feed them tobacco leaves and bet on which grasshoppers could spit the farthest!!! Hey, cheap, free, fun!

What was not fun and when we least expected it, was when they would spit tobacco at us...gross!  When we bored of the spitting, we would shoved them down each others bathing suits to see who could "stand it" the longest.  I was always a loser.

(PS, scientist say the brown spit was not tobacco juice, but as kids, we didn't know the difference...haha  The scientist also said that grasshoppers don't chew tobacco.  Humm, they needed to come down South and see for themselves.)  Either way, the huge, ugly grasshoppers were quiet entertaining.

I may look like... (2nd posting today)

...I'm doing nothing
Inside: But in my head I'm quite busy!

Don't like to do 2 postings on any given day, but tomorrow is the last day to enter the QKR Challenge #130 : Stitching  (With my luck, I'll forget to enter tomorrow....that has happened before...haha)

I used the grasshopper from QKR stamps to help create the easel card.  Stitching is around the main image.  Grass and cat tail dies were added elements.

A2, copics, tree bark embossing folder, Wink of Stella on wings

pop-ups on grass for dimension, brad for fold hold

Smile...

Inside:  Spring is here!

Love the Mini Bunny Blocks Set from Bugaboo Stamps.  I'm entering my card in their SSS #305 Sketch.  I colored in PSE.  The "Smile" is from Woodware Stamps.  I colored and used my patterns from Silhouette Design Studio.

A2, CAS, used pop-ups for dimension

Don't sweat it!

Inside:  Age is important only is you're cheese or wine.   Happy Birthday!

I may take off for a few days and head to the beach, but DH and the puppies will hold down the fort!  Weather is awesome here and at beach so why not take advantage.  I have a sore throat with the pollen alert being high here so I hope it won't put a damper on my trip....we'll see tonight!

Birthday Candle Birdbrain from From the Heart Stamps is what I'm using for their Challenge #101 with a twist.  I chose the sketch. It's pretty CAS.  I went back and aded blue and more Wink of Stella on the "sweat"..haha

A2, copics, stitching, Lil Inker Stitched Banner die, wink of stella...oops...forgot to had the shadow before taking the pics

I'm a shade late....

My 1st daffodil of 2015 in our new house.  Daffodils have been blooming for a month.  Mine are just catching up!

Boy oh Boy, am I forever late getting some birthday cards mailed. I need to make about 10 of these.  I tried to keep this very gender neutral.  All images came from Doodle Pantry. (see below)

A2, I MUST find my clear easel. I do so apologize for the paperclip....very unprofessional

Stampendous "Happy Birthday" stamp, homemade enamel dots, string, copics for shading

Chocolate. Coffee. Men.

Well, I did it again...left some things off and 3 people proofed it and didn't catch.  Can you find them?  I'll mention in the caption...haha

Still loving the birdbrain images from From The Heart Stamps.  This one is called Birdbrain Needs Coffee.  I'm entering it into their FTHS Challenge Sketch 100 with a twist.  I think I did both - the sketch and CAS.  I made the background paper will wet embossing and heat.

A2, holder punch, mag die, copics, wink of Stella on eyelids, Lil Inker stitched circle and rectangle die, made shadow circle with Silhouette,

OK...here is the "oops"...forgot to color the peak and coffee inside mug...bummer...of course I went back and coloroed as seen in first photo..haha

When people.....

Have you ever finished a card only to drop something on it...like an ink pad and mess it up?  It has happened to me more than once and it happened with this card.   The only way to save it was to fussy cut and/or take it into PSE and erase the ink marks.  All the marks were on the outside of the image but very close to the feet so there was no disguising with a sentiment, flower and any type of embellishment...haha  I printed it out but losing a little color quality.  If I knew enough about PSE, I'm sure I couldn't have fixed that too.

Anyhoooo, I'm entering Digi 24122 into the QKR Stampede Challenge #130: Stitching   I used real stitching, faux stitching, and dies with embedded stitching.

A2, copics, Lawn Fawn banner stitched die, Lil Inker rectangle stitched die, rafetta

Hope this.... (2nd posting today)

We all have a day where our spirits need lifting...not feeling well, tough day at the office, tough day when your body won't cooperated, etc....just one of those days!

Balloon Giraffes is one of several images I won at Catch the Bug for playing along in one of their challenges last month.  I'm joining their SSS #305 Challenge.  I made a card for the challenge and silly me accidentally used the wrong sketch...yup...one of those days.

A2, copics, paper pieced some balloons, pop ups for dimension

Lil Inker balloon stitched dies, dyed cord

The latest dirt....

I'm going to spend time revisiting some oldies at Doodle Pantry and making more masculine cards....gosh...I need them.  I love the older ones as much as the most recent.  This one is definitely an old favorite.  It's called Digging Ant and it's only $1.

Still time to join in on our Doodle Pantry Ants in the Pantry Challenge #3.  Great chance to win a GC and gather up some awesome inspiration.

copics for coloring, used new diagonal die from Lil Inker, faux stitching

homemade shovel svg I made, homemade center DP...little spades, Wink of Stella on had and both shovels, pop-ups on shovel for dimension

Ridin' by the light of the moon

...that's an old expression if you haven't heard it before.

I don't know why I put a moon behind the image...it just looked like it belonged there and that sentiment popped into my head.

I won several images at QKR Stampede last week. I now want to enter this card into this week's QKR Challenge #129: Green

A2, I don't know why the snail's shell is looking red because it is suppose to be brown along with the hat the frog is holding

Copics, and large circle burst die, pop-ups for dimension and arrow svg

Fried Chicken

I'm ready for the summer; however I cover myself with sunscreen and stay under the umbrella.

I think this image, Fried Chicken, and sentiment is funny...little play on words.  I entering my easel card in the Catch the Bug: Anything Goes challenge, but used the sketch below.

A2, gems, raffeta, brad, Lawn Fawn alphabet, Fiskar wave border die, sun punch

This isn't crooked, but I couldn't find my easel and had to do the best I could...sorry!

Medication Label Warning!

The expression you can't get "blood out of a turnip" applies to me too.  Nurses just can't get blood out of me.  It too nurse No. 3 to get the blood...my poor hands and arm!  Anyhooo, "Doctor Appreciation" week is coming up soon (at least that is what I read in the Waiting Room.)  So, I made this card for Dr. Ezealah, who is trying to find what's wrong with me.  I left the office with a little less money in my wallet and a little less blood.

I bought this Art Impression Stamp Set from my local Michaels.  There is no title on the set. She was originally hold a glass of wine but I masked it and she's now holding a medicine bottle that I scanned from Lawn Fawn called Get Well.

A2, copics for coloring and lines on chair, stamped the pill bottle for background paper
