In Sympathy for the Lost of your beloved pet

My sister is a huge animal lover.  She bought Dreyfus when her son died.  Dreyfus was her healing partner.  Dreyfus had a good life and a long life.  Anyhow, I made this card for her.  She was going to frame the card, but I have decided to take the card apart, add to a floating frame and add another one of her pet's silhouettes to this frame ...she lost another schnauzer this past year also.  Her name was Daisy.

Other news:  I taught today.  It got me out of the house, but I had to leave DH to fend for himself.  Recovery has been tough for him, but he's been walking without the use of a walker for 2 days now.

Remember...Doodle Pantry has the new releases for March and the March Challenge will start at 12:00 pm on March 1

Rabbit heading home

I saw this darling card on Pinterest and had to CASE.  It still makes me giggle when I look at it.  Except for one extra oval shadow made in Silhouette, everything was done with punches...oops...I also used a leaf die from Poppy Stamps.  My friend Cheryl shared with me some insect embellishments.  One card has a bee and the other a ladybug.  This is a replica of my "derriere" when I'm on my hands and knees looking for lost punch pieces...haha

Life's better with... (and announcement)

....more marshmallows!

Here is Cocoa Ants from Doodle Pantry.  It also comes pre-colored, along with papers and sentiments...I used brown copics for a monochromatic challenge at  Tuesday Throwdown #135.

While I'm on the subject of Doodle Pantry images....because I love them so much, now is a good time to announce that I'm returning to the Doodle Pantry DT starting in March - August. The team has been great welcoming me back.  DH is on the mends so I thought it was time to try to get back to the team while I had this opportunity and invitation.  Yippee!

With March 1 just around the corner,  I'm soooo excited with the new sets that Laurie will be releasing.  Yippee!

...dream a little dream..

My passion for card making began with the discovery of House Mouse stamps at Hobby Lobby....the rest is history!

This card is CAS.  I followed a sketch for the the One Stop Craft #216.  I added some bling because it looked to plain.  A little can go a long way!

A wheel good time

Just love the happiness on this little boy's face.  He looks like he's having a "wheel good time".  He's   an AKV-Summer Sports- Biking from Bugaboo Stamps.  I followed a challenge sketch from Friday's Sketch Challenge #37.  My DH chuckles how I try to rationalize some cards.  The red, then yellow, then green circles were my interpretation of a traffic light.  Did any of you "get it"!  haha

A Celebration is in Order

The BBrat Girl from Bugaboo Stamps is one of the images I colored while hospital sitting my husband using some of my favorite Spring colors. Today I have the opportunity to enter into their Catch The Bug Bingo Challenge.  I'm leaving off the sentiment  until time to use.

Yup, I used my window and flower box svg.  The flower die is new from Memory Box. ( I use to love sitting in the living room window and then jumping out..that was right before air-conditioning was invented and we were the first on the block to get it.  From that point on my mother kept the windows shut...no more fun!)

Happiness is an unexpected hug

I put the sentiment on the inside this time.  I made several of these cards.  Another sentiment, "Consider yourself hugged today".  This is "Hugs and Chicks" from Inky Antics.

I followed the sketch for the Digi Sketch Challenge.  I was going to colored the flowers, but it is snowing here (a rarity) and my flowers are white from the snow...so I went with the moment....lol

You're Never Too Old

Good Grief....finally made a card after being on a 2 weeks hiatus!  I don't have a sentiment for the card yet.  I love this little lady from Art Impressions so I finally sat down and colored her.  Something about this old gal that makes me smile. I decided to follow the sketch from Catch the Bug for their Stella Says Sketch Challenge #130.

The paper is from the "Latte Stack" from DCWV....wish I could find some more.  The ballerina slippers are from SVGCUTS.

Hello....I'm Back..

... of course, some people didn't know I was gone...haha

My DH had been in immense pain with his back since before New Years.  All the doctors kept dragging their feet helping him.  I finally took matters into my own hands!  I packed him up, did not stop at GO, and went straight to the ER.  I stated my husband was "broken" and had to be fix. He got admitted with doctors STILL not listening to me.  When they finally did as I suggested (as far as test), they finally saw the ruptured disk and operated....none too soon and a month and a half too late "in my book".  Long days at the hospital, making sure he was being taken care of correctly didn't leave any time for card making; however, I took my copics and some images and colored for several days.  I brought him home yesterday.  It's a different kind of pain now, but I swear I almost had to turn around and take him back from the pain he had while I was driving home from the hospital.

Now for the recuperation time.  We had to find "the perfect chair" that he could sit in without pain and discomfort.  The end result....my chair in my craft room....haha! But, all for a good cause.

I've been to the store, got his meds, trying to keep him comfortable and since it is a rainy day here, a perfect day to hopefully make some cards.

Thanks for all the well wishes.  I apologize for not getting to all the many wonderful blogs to comment since the wifi at the hospital wasn't very good, but trust me....visiting your blogs was the highlight of my days for the past week and a half and helped keep my sanity.

Let me be your Happy!

When I saw Under A Cherry Tree post a card like this, I just had to CASE.  It made "me" happy!  The coffee mug came from Lettering Delights "Love you a Latte"set.  I didn't have the font she used  to make the white frame, so I made my own svg.

The idea behind the card is to make it look like the menu you see on a chalkboard inside and sometimes outside a little cafe.  I also added the pretend chalk piece hanging on the side.  I could send this to at least 50 people I know "just because". The first one is already designated to my friend Cheryl who has been helping me out while my husband is in the hospital; it can also be used as a Valentine card.

Hang in There (Sketch Challenge)

I really wanted to participate in the Sketch Saturday Challenge, but the sketch was a REAL challenge.  I had this left over image from my "Doodle Pantry goodie stash", and after getting inspiration from the DT members, I gave it a go.  Boy oh boy....I'm thinking Spring...even with the snow sprinkles we had the other night. The image...Balloon Ants.

Guess Who?

(inside)...can't show you yet...it's a surprise!

It's been awhile since I have played with my Lettering Delight files.  I love them all, but the owls are my favorite right now.  This one is from Felt Right Owls. Someone name Kristen (can't find her blog) was my inspiration. I made the "disguise glasses" svg last year. The shadow was done with my Silhouette Cameo. The paper is glittery and is from DCWV called "Nana's Nursery". I love my new Big Croc -A- Dile setter and my friends Cheryl and Deloris set me up with a great stash of eyelets.  It's very hard to find them in the craft stores these days.

Not Feeling So Hot!

Doodle Pantry just released this month's new images....always a happy day for me...God knows I need a happy day right now.  Their new Challenge #31 also starts today.  Anyhow, this image was one of January releases called Chili Peppers.  My inspiration and CASING was from Sarah at Aunt Bee's Pickles.

Part of the image is pre-colored and the other I used copics. Using scrap paper from Halloween, rafetta, red gems, stitching and pop-ups I call it complete and me satisfied.
