Peace on Earth

It could also be a silent night. After the snow has fallen, do you notice how quiet, almost silent, the air is around you?   It's a wonderful, blissful feeling that comes over me each time.  Of course, the next day comes the children screaming and playing and the sound of snow shovels and snow blowers.  But for those first few hours after the snow has fallen, well, it's a wonderful quietness.

My brother and SIL live in Little Compton, RI...little beach community with woods and deer.  You can sit quietly, look out their window and see the deer.  A beautiful winter scene.

I made the window and the dimensional tree in Silhouette Studio.  I do not plan to change the tree into an svg, but it you have any type of Silhouette machine, just email me (don't ask in the comment box below because it does NOT give me your email) and I will be happy to send.

  3. This is absolutely stunning, Cely. Love these little scenes and it reminds me of our little country place where we often see the deer roam across our front lawn. Thanks for the beautiful inspiration!

  4. We don't get snow often, but when we do, it's SO awesome and breath taking. Hopefully this year is our year.
Gorgeous dimension and the gold glitter on the tree is perfect. I also really like the flourishes on the inside - great idea.

  5. We did think alike! Love your window scene, Cely. It's so cool that the windows open. I also love the silence of a snowfall. Very peaceful. Hope we don't have too much this year, though!!

  6. Stunning card I feel like I am looking out the window and it's such a pretty scene. I love your work and attention to detail. I see deer all the time living in the country and they are so awesome to see.. also too many killed by the logging trucks. so sad.
    I love your card.

  8. I just love that window, Cely. I meant to say that last time, but your blog posts to my e-mail at 2am and sometimes I'm just too tired to actually write the comment. I forgot to go back the next day(same day?) and so I'm tellin' you now! The idea of deer is lovely, but in practice, they eat my garden, my perennials, damage trees and drive the dog nuts >.< Oh, and my bird feeder is now 15 feet off of the ground, thanks to my handy hubby ;- ) Have a great week.
